He shuffled to an upright position. "I don't know... I saw, like, a vision or something. Ami, back when she was kid..." Wait. She looked two years younger... what happened two years ago, dipwad? She just told you about it the other day. "I saw Ami watching her brothers leave home. It was so weird..." He looked around. "I'm not sure I like this place." He staggered just a little bit. "Maybe we should head back." He leaned on Nikky, still feeling a little out of it.

Gdosimirj tilted her head. "Good, then..." She felt an odd tremor. "Something... weird's going on." She shook her head and the feeling cleared. "Some sort of metaphysical activity is taking place. Difficult to tell whether that's a good sign or not, but we should definitely get moving as soon as possible." She nodded to herself bruquely as she considered the altercations. "The closest place to land a ship the size of the Ragnorak is at least an hour's hike from the village. Everyone wear good walking shoes."

Ami checked out her boots. "Who needs a chocobo when you got two perfectly good legs? These'll do. I just hope Lana has something suitable... she's always been more of a girly-girl..." Ami felt a slight tremor, a faint connection, and an old memory surfaced... but something was different this time... What's Reno doing in my memory?
Ami's jaw dropped. "Holy c**p. Rude..."
"What?"
"I think I have some vaguely surprising news for you about your partner..."

Reno found it a little tougher getting back down the trail than up. The ground just before the ledge was a bit crumbly and powdery-- he kept losing his footing and almost pulled Nikky down on top of him. "Whoops... sheez, I'm both crazy and a klutz now." He looked at his clothes... covered in dust. He tried shaking it off, only to acquire more by slipping again a few moments later.
They finally got back to the house. Ami was standing at the door and waiting for him. "I don't believe it," she said.
Reno glanced back at Nikky. "Believe what? Tell me what so I won't be able to believe it with you."

Ami shook her head. She remembered the vision she got right before going to face Jenova. "When we were about to go take out Mummy Dearest, I blacked out... Jenova was trying to kill me from a distance with her powers. But my brother bailed me out, along with a girl in a pink dress. The girl said that my presence had attracted two people capable of touching the Lifestream-- one of them was Blood, as we all know now. But I've had my guesses about who the other was..." She scoffed. "I have to admit, none of them included you... until now."
Reno blinked. Then he laughed. "Wait a second. What are you trying to get at, that I'm some kinda mumbo-jumbo mystic or something? Or an Ancient? The Ancients are dead, I told you..."
"No, you are definitely not an Ancient," Ami interrupted. "She said there were two to whom a gift was given... a gift that, in you, has been silent before very recently." She looked him in the eye. "My guess is, a greater power was needed to unlock it." She glanced at Nikky.
He looked at her. "What are you saying?"

"Apparently," Rude broke in, "that for whatever reason, the planet has picked you to help dispense its power, but only through unconscious decisions. I always did say you let your heart do the thinking... looks like I was more right than I thought."
"And further," Ami continued, "that gift was dormant in you... your Shinra training suppressed it. But then you met Nikky... and everything changed." Her tone became playful. "True love... 'tis a powerful thing..."
Reno looked at her. You can say that again... but this whole mystic junkola... "Sorry, Ami, but I don't buy it. I've been asked to believe in a lot of crazy stuff since I ran into you, but I can't believe THIS."
Ami smiled. "You don't have to... IT believes in YOU."
She gave him a light punch in the shoulder. "Good thing I decdied to keep you around, huh?" She turned tail and went back into the house, leaving a dumbfounded redhead behind her.
He turned to Nikky. "That... was really odd..." He shook his head. "I gotta say, I think Ami took one too many hits to the head back at Shinra's place." He couldn't help wondering, though... It might explain all that crazy luck I have...

Ami passed her family and went back to packing, whistling merrily, looking like the cat who swallowed the canary. So, Red's some kinda "chosen one"... go figure.

He took her hand and kissed it. "This world has enough sacred stiffs walking around, trying to keep it from blowing apart. I don't think it needs me." He was making it sound light, but underneath he found himself seriously thinking it over. Cannot believe I'm not shoving this off... it's nuts.
He sat down in the grass of her backyard. He looked around... blue sky, green grass, trees. And suddenly he was supposed to be responsible for all that?
He shook his head and laid back. "And to think my parents thought I'd never amount to anything," he commented, only half-joking.

Gdosimirj passed down the hall towards the bathroom to grab some TP for the trip ahead of them, but slowed at the sight of Kamen leaning against the wall.
"Kamen...? You look like you just lost your favorite chocobo."

nikky smiled slightly and sat next to him. ''well they were wrong...'' she smiled more and pushed the hair outa his face.
kamen was slightly startled by the sound of people. he looked over and smiled weakly. ''well i am a little lost.... but i needed to get up and do something.....'' he said quietly, looking around curiously.

Blood ignored Ami's concerns. "You seem to know the most about the sins, at least out of those that I have met. Akira is the sin of anger. It is dangerous to keep him alive. What do you all intend to do when he comes?"

Ami shrugged. "We're going to have to crass that bridge when we come to it. At this particular moment in time, I'd prefer to see my family squared away... then we'll see about destroying the world-domination-bent nutjobs. I presume Rude will try to use the Sacrifice on him... if we're lucky, Akira'll change back, like Leviathan did, and this time we'll know to watch his back."
Ami looked at her skirt, ragged from the fight. "Better change again." She grabbed some stuff out of her closet and headed to the bathroom. "Soon as I change clothes, I'm set."

Ami's parents were hastily putting clothes into suitcases, food into laundry hampers, memorobilia into boxes... "How long will we be forced to hide?" Ami's mother muttered to herself.
"They didn't say, so let's plan for the long-term." Stephen kept his head, but truth be told, he didn't much like the way any of this was turning out. His daughter rushing off into foolhardy battle, just like his sons had, and the rest of his family being forced to go underground... There had to be some other way.
Ami's mom swallowed hard. Butterball, the family Shi Tzu, trotted over for a petting. She scratched him behind the ears absently. "I heard them say they plan to take us to Wutai. I've never been there..."
Stephen shrugged. "That makes two of us." When we get there, Ami will need a miracle to get away from us. That yarn she spun for us about her adventures was less than reassuring.

Reno smiled at Nikky. He sat up and put an arm around her, leaning against her. "Glad one of us thinks so."
Sigh... I can tell without looking that Rude is watching us... They're never going to get off our backs, I can tell.
