nikky walked in and sighed, sitting. she yawned and looked over. ''yeah reno??'' she made a face at ami. ''i'm fine....''
kamen sunk back in his seat and closed his eyes.

Ami came up front to confer with him. "No, not quite. Xima is still on the Western Continent, at least according to my brothers. Rufus is at the Crater, but I'm not sure why... I thought the place was nothing but a big hole. The Martyress told me he was there to start the cycle of abominations anew..." She mulled that over. The clones I dreamed of?

Ami shrank back slightly. "Oh... sorry. I didn't realize you were a telepath." She sighed. "Yes, the landing place of my 'mummy dearest'." She shook her head. "Sometimes... I shouldn't think like this, I know, but sometimes I wish I'd never been born. Of course things would be different without me and all... but when a person is too tired to live and too scared to die, what else can you wish for?"
She headed back to the passenger area to check up on Kamen. "Dimitri... don't tell anyone I said that. I don't want them to worry about me." She felt herself fingering her necklace again. I need your strength now, boys. If only you were here to give it. "If Shinra's setting up to produce more Remnants... they need me to be strong." She straightened up. "Tell Tseng that Xima is still out West. I'd guess near Wutai or some other isolated place."
She left him to pilot the ship and sat next to Kamen. She smiled at him. "Thanks for your help," she said softly. "How are you feeling?"

Reno smiled weakly at Nikky. "Hi." He stretched out on the cot. "Sheez, I'm beat." He sat up and pulled her down to sit next to him. "I don't know what happened to me... It's like I ran a marathon in my sleep." He put an arm around her and kissed her on the lips. "It's OK... I think you're helping me to relax." He leaned on her and closed his eyes.

kamen watched her walk over and sit down. he returned the smile. ''you are deeper welcome....'' he grinned and laughed slightly. ''and yes.... i suppose i'm feeling fine, if not better...'' his eyes werebright but still held a hidden fear....
nikky gasped slightly at beeing pulled down but relaxed and smiled. ''well... maybe you did?'' she kissed him back and held him against her, stroking his hair. ''thats good.... you should rest.'' she said softly, kissing his forehead.

Dimitri nodded to Ami as she left the room and then returned his attention to piloting the ship over the mountains. He still found himself wondering how he'd changed his life so quickly and so vastly... One minute he was a bounty hunter with no friends and nothing tying him down... Now he was linked up with this bunch and actually helping them... for no cash. Why?
Dimitri shook his head and placed his fedora on the dashboard. He didnt have answers for himself, but something inside him said he was doing the right thing for once...

Ami noticed Kamen's tension. "Hey, you nervous about all this?" She tried to sound optimistic, but failed. She sighed. "I am too." She brightened again, but it was a brightness she didn't believe in. "Hey, let me tell you something. Riding a motorcycle down the main avenues of Midgar at rush hour... that's dangerous. Remnants are a piece of cake." She hoped the humor made him feel better... but with the foreboding and depression hanging over her own heart, how could she blame him if it wasn't working?

Reno turned his head and kissed Nikky's neck. "I should..." He kissed it again. "Thanks for the tip." His eyes closed as he put his arms around her. He had a pounding headache, but strangely, it seemed to be fading away...

The ship settled down in the "bad neighborhood" again, Amnesty still spilling out her tale to Rude.
"When he finds out about all this... I don't know what he's going to do," she confessed, her voice breaking. "All I know is, I can't live without him..." She tried to turn away and hide her tears.
Rude sat there and let her have her cry, still watching the viewport. "Ami, you can. But you won't have to. What happened was not your fault. Stop blaming yourself."
She wiped her eyes as unobtrusively as possible. "But what if he..."
"He should be able to put the past behind him. At least, as long as you do the same." Rude kept watching her with those unfeeling sunglasses lenses of his. "And if he doesn't... then maybe it wasn't meant to be." He adjusted his collar uncomfortably-- this was not one of his areas of expertise. Ask him to build a bomb or fire a cannon... that was easy. A relationship about to fall to pieces... no, that was not in his job description. Especially considering how successful he'd been at fixing THOSE in the past...
Ami sighed. "I know you're right... but I know that with my head. Telling my heart that has been another proposition altogether."
She got up. "If you'll excuse me, I have to go to the little Remnant's room before we disembark." She got up and walked out.
Rude sighed and rubbed his eyes. This girl is worse than a soap opera.

kamen shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he watched everyone. a sort of uneasiness crept over him and made him ill. he sat there a moment before standing and wandering about. he was bored and was trying to shake the feeling....

She passed Reno and Nikky, still sitting in the passenger area, kissing each other... Well, we can be glad at least that kissing is all they're doing. I know Squall and I almost did more than that earlier, and without any marriage proposals in sight. She shook her head and sighed. Thank G** for abstinence... if we'd gone any further, who knows how much worse I'd be feeling?
She entered the "ladies' room"...

Reno still held Nikky, almost cradling her. "You know, the only bad thing I can think of about all this is... I'm finally going to have to go ahead and tell you what my real name is." He shook his head and laughed at himself. "Even my parents hated it... they always called me Reno, too." He stroked her cheek gently, looking deep into her eyes, unable to pull his gaze away.

nikky blinked and cuddled in his arms almost like a child. she leaned into his touch and held his hand there. ''well.... it can't be that bad. what is it??'' she was curious.
kamen stumbled slightly and then sat on the floor to keep himself from falling. he closed his eyes and held his head. ''stop it.... stop it.'' he whispered.

Amnesty came out of the bathroom, drying her hands on a paper towel... she dropped it when she saw what shape Kamen was in. "Oh, my G**... Kamen?!"
She knelt down in front of him and the old mantra rose from her, in a steady time and meter, her voice low and steady, almost monotone... "Breathe deep... breathe slow... fill your lungs... hear my voice... focus, Kamen, focus..." She put her hand on his shoulder and moved it back and forth mechanically, almost as a reflex...
She and her brothers always did this for each other, when Jenova's voice became too strong and brought them to their knees... hearing the "mantra", and the jokingly called it, sometimes brought them back to reality... sometimes it took something more.

Reno dropped his head with hilarity, suppressing giggles. "My last name actually matches Axel's, if you take out the X and rearrange the letters... the sad thing is, it spells out the name of..." He broke of and started laughing. "The name of a female contraceptive device." He could not stop giggling at himself. "My first name is actually worse... my grandparents wished it on me..."

kamen stiffened at her touch at first, his head low. he tried to do what she was telling him to, the many voices echoing in his mind. he rocked and swayed as she shook him slightly. he finally regained himself enough to look up at her. his eyes flashed another color but then went to normal. he snapped back suddenly and fell forward, hugging her. he started crying.....
she stared at him in confusion before laughing slightly and shaking her head. ''alright, alright.... just tell me.'' she lifted up his face to hers and kissed his lips lightly. ''it can't be that bad....''

Cloud and Vincent enter the pub, they grab a set and tend to their relaxing time.
Cloud: "Well Vincent you relax then its off to find this Xima that Aztar spoke of."
Vincent: "Great more Jenova posers, Cloud...Don't forget about the rest of the Sins to, Aztar said there is still three of them out there and Lucifer is one strong demon..."
Cloud: "Aztar created those demon why doesn't he take care of them...."
Vincent: "....."
Cloud: "Ok your right the Sins to!"

Reno laughed and kissed her back. "Actually, yes, it can..." He whispered it to her, going into giggling fits. "My uncle said after the christening, 'Good G**! Why didn't you just name the poor boy Caselda Wadsocks?!'" He started laughing openly now, holding Nikky close. "I swear, though, that name isn't going on the marriage certificate... it hasn't been my legal name anyway for G** knows how long." He leaned in and kissed her again, feeling like a million dollars.

Ami held Kamen, patting his back, soothing him. "Shh... shh... it's OK... shh..." She rocked him gently. "It's all right, you can tell me... it's OK." She felt horrible for him... she just wanted to make it all better, just the way she used to, when she and her brothers were children... when she used to play mother to her boys... "It's OK, Kamen... I'm watching out for you... I'm here." She waited for him to be strong enough to speak to her.
