Gdosimirj withdrew her hand and sat next to the bed on the floor, hugging her knees. She closed her eyes in a meditative way and sent positive energy towards him as best as she knew how- positive energy was hard to come by in a contract such as hers.

kamen watched her for a moment, he frowned in slight confusion before leaning back and sighing slightly. he felt the energy and blinked before relaxing and closing his eyes. a faint smile creeped across his face.

Back at the ship, Reno had finally managed to get back to his feet. He helped Nikky stand. "Seems like one way or the other, we always wind up falling on each other," he wisecracked. He peered past her into the cabin where Ami and Squall had gone... That Blood kid? How the h**l did he catch up with us?
He shook his head. "The more we hang around these people, the weirder things I am forced to accept, yo."

Rude got up and out of his seat with a speed no one had guessed he had and made a beeline for the exit hatch. I've got to get away from that crazy sister of Ami's... She is actually starting to frighten me, and that takes quite a degree of talent in my case.
"Ami, a word?" Rude called back.

"Now what?" she muttered, heading outside to see what he wanted. "Yeah?"
"We still are no closer to figuring out where your family should go until the danger is past."
"My grandparents, maybe. My grandfather was in the military-- he's still a pretty big guy-- and my uncles all live nearby... they can protect them..."
"Not from Shinra muscle. If they could beat back your brothers, your uncles will be no problem..."

Ami's mother eavesdropped on the two, turning somewhat pale. What sort of danger have we gotten ourselves into?
She turned to Stephen and drew him aside to discuss what she'd heard...

Gdosimirj kept her eyes closed- she didn't want Kamen to become suspicious should he glance over and see her eyes glowing green. What she didn't realize, however, was that if anyone had looked at Kamen closely, they would have noticed his wounds glowing ever so slightly with green energy. She had never tried healing anybody before. Her powers had never been for good. But it was all she could do to help try and heal the young sorcerer.

nikky laughed and nodded. ''yeah.... but you gotta admint life would be boring.'' she grinned.
kamen continued to feel the energy as he tried to stay awake. he forced his eyes to stay open but the kept falling. he was dreadfully tired but felt strange to even think about sleep.

Reno retrieved his coat and gave Nikky hers. He sighed. "Oh well... better luck next time, I guess." He kissed her cheek. "Provided the Closet Puritans leave us alone long enough for there to BE a next time. They'll probably set us up with a chaperone after that last... incident."
He wandered out to see what Rude was up to.

He and Ami were still talking about where to take her family. Ami lobbed out another idea. "This IS a spaceship... maybe we can send them to wherever it is Squall came from..."
"The amount of fuel needed to break orbit alone would be prohibitively expensive."
Ami got fed up. "So what's YOUR bright idea?!"
"I don't have one... I just don't think any of yours will work."
Ami facepalmed herself. "Well, we can't drag them around while we're trying to save the world..."

nikky laughed and took her coat. she slipped it on and followed him, looking around. she searched for kamens energy but instead found sunsets. she frowned slightly before getting that she was with him and had a stronger energy. she sighed with relief, knowing he was not alone.

"Look, we aren't getting anywhere by just hanging around and yakking, so let's head back to the house," Ami insisted. "Maybe Sunet or Kamryn will have some ideas, and we can talk to the rest of the party on the way."
Rude shrugged. "Most sound piece of reasoning I've heard from you all day."
Ami couldn't ride her bike over, or she would have left all the others behind, but she did load it with cargo and pushed it as the strange coalition of forces made its their way towards her home. She tried speaking with Dimitri, but for some reason he had lapsed into an impentrable silence for the time being. He too was pushing a motorcycle, and the effort of doing this while heading uphill seemed to remove his capacity for speech.
Ami shook her head. Flatlanders.
Lana was pulling Sunset's chocobo along, a task which at least for the moment spared Rude from her attentions. He made a point of steering clear of her.
Stephen and Nora remained strangely silent, watching Ami like hawks. Ami felt somewhat suspicious... I'll bet anything they're going to try talking me into staying home. Sorry, Mom and Dad... but this is bigger than all of us. I'm still your little girl and I love you, but right now, here is not where I am meant to be.
She made it into the house first after parking her bike. "We're back, guys," she announced. She stopped her family. "We can't stay here long... at least one of Shinra's lackeys is still after me, and I wouldn't be able to take it if they threatened you again. We have to get you somewhere safe. Pack what you need and be ready to leave within an hour." She headed for her room to get some of her things that she'd left behind before... She just realized what she had done. Did I just give my parents ORDERS? Oy, I'm really starting to lose it...
Reno shrugged. "Hey, Kamryn. Where's Spooky at?" He picked up the black bag Ami had left the night before and picked at it to see if anything else interesting was inside. He got out Nikky's old outfit. "Here..."

nikky took her old clothes and ran off to change.
kamen had given up and had fallen asleep.

Reno grinned to himself. I really did like her old clothes better... It took a great deal of willpower to convince himself to not follow her to wherever she was changing clothes. He could tell Rude was staring at him as it was... He sprawled out on the couch, until he caught Ami's mom looking at him funny. He sat up a bit more properly and watched her relax. Sheez, Ami, your family is stiff...
Rude and Ami looked in on Gdosimirj and Kamen. "How's the patient doing?" Ami asked quietly.

kamen stirred slightly but sleep. his fever was down and he looked a bit better. he was in need of real food and some fresh air.
nikky changed and fixed her makeup in the bathroom.

Reno waited by the door for Nikky to come out. "Hey, when you're all set in there... you wanna take a walk?" I got to get out of this house. Ami's parents are totally nuts.

nikky poked her head out and grinned. ''sure...'' she stepped out with the others clothes in her hand. ''where do i put these? and before we go... i'd like to go check up on kamen.'' she smiled slightly

Gdosimirj opened her eyes slowly, making a stark attempt at stifling the green glow in her eyes. "He should be better. I was attempting a cure." She rose and met Ami at the door. "What have I missed, and what's our next plan of action? I can only assume we're not staying here."

"Good question," Ami replied. "I was hoping you'd have some ideas. You helped the Cult hide for years... I need a safe place to take my family until Tseng and the Sins are eliminated."

Reno shrugged. "Ask Ami... I don't do the laundry around this dive, yo."
He stuck his head into the bedroom. "Hey, Two-Tone, where's the laundry go around here?"
"There should be a hamper in the bathroom. White and plastic."
Reno shrugged again and took Nikky's dirty clothes. "I'll take care of these... you say hi to your 'psychic friend' in there." It's not my style to volunteer to do anything that sounds like work, but I just want to keep my distance from Kamen. I know he's different now... but my hackles still go up whenever I see him.
