he smiled slightly and watched her. he swallowed a wave of slight pain and discomfort. he sighed slightly. ''i don't suppose anyone ever told you what happened to me...??'' he looked over at her with slightly brightened eyes, his voice held a certain irony and humor. his smile tried to hold warmth and yet he still remained sad and hurt like a wounded bird.

he laughed slightly and nodded. ''sure... we have nothing better to do....'' he cleared his throat with a wince and started. ''i took a job... you could say, and became some sort of a sorcerer... a puppet master. i took control of nikky... who fought and i freed her after a long chase. i tried to run back... to my boss...'' he swallowed and touched his own arm slightly. ''as you can see it didn't go over well with him...''

Dimitri saluted Ami and turned on his heel, slipping right back into his SeeD training. He sat back down at the pilot's chair, re-activated manual controls and took the ship down, utilizing the maps on the control consol, he located Midgar and found the appropriate village, landing a few miles away so as not to disturb it.
When they'd landed, Dimitri shut down the engines and put the ship in power save mode, heading out to join the others, sliding his coat and fedora back on. "We're here." He said.

Ami, her guts sufficiently voided, went back to check up on Squall, see if he was coming around. "Sheez, Squall, I'm sorry about that... I guess flying isn't one of my natural talents." She knelt next to his cot, her voice softening. "Are you all right?" She took his hand gently, feeling like ten kinds of an a**.

"Hm. And how do you think things will go after this?" Gdosimirj inquired. She hoped that this 'boss' person wasn't out to destroy Kamen for good.
"Hang on a second..." Gdosimirj had just gotten slightly disturbed. "May I ask... WHO was your boss?" She had a very small hunch, but one that she prayed wasn't right...

kamen blinked at the question. he used to know the answer but now saw tha he couldn't answer it... he frowned. ''i... don't know. i never really saw him in person.'' he swallowed slightly and closed his eyes, trying to remember. ''it was always dark... but most of my memories have been blocked.'' he opened his eyes and stared at her.

Gdosimirj paused for a moment, then nodded to herself absently. "You ruled out who I was thinking of by referring to a 'him' and a 'he'. I was thinking along the lines of a 'she', one Genova. The Calamity. I was afraid that, somehow, she had taken a corporeal form in some mystical and outlandish fashion..." She shook her head. "It's not even logical. She's been destroyed, or at least imprisoned. But it's a fear that always somehow finds me."

she nodded sliowly. ''oh.... i see.'' he said quietly. he licked his chapped lips slightly and swallowed. ''so... um.... hm...'' he had run out of things to say, his life really had no substance to it and he wasn't very good at conversations.

She could sense his uneasiness, and it nearly made her chuckle. Instead, she smiled a disarming smile and put her hand on his arm. "We don't need to talk for me to be here for you. Where I came from, unnecessary conversation was the difference between life and death. Company can be kept in silence."

kamen automatically stared at her hand in a mix between curiosity or wariness. he looked up at her again slowly and nodded. he sunk down slightly and relaxed some, not feeling the need to be tense and fearful here.
