Squall smiled. I havent kicked back properly for months! I get warped to planet and go for a drink, then got dragged into a search for vincent --> Seven Sins --> Jenova and sephiroth... HOW?! Squall gave Ami a squeeze, " If anyones earned a vacation its you," * Grabs some food* "We should be nearly there now?"

Ami grabbed something to eat as well. "That's what I'm afraid of." She went out into the passenger area. Reno and Nikky were still involved in their card game, both of them trying their hardest to look cool in front of the other one. Ami approached Rude and spoke to him quietly. "Rude? I have to ask you a weird question, so try to not think I'm nuts."
Rude nodded acknowledgement.
Ami took a deep breath. "Okay, it's like this. I just had a dream about this thing we're going to fight. Someone told me it was called Leviathan."
"The Sin of Envy," Rude confirmed. So we're after another Sin here. And Chaos cells went from the Lust into Lutz when she died... that must be the connection I'm looking for. I better keep a close eye on this Lutz from now on.
"What else do you know about this thing?"
"A large water creature, with some power over its natural element. Virtually impenetrable skin. Reportedly breathes some kind of incindiary: probably flames or electricity. May be able to see in the dark."
"You've done your homework."
"It was either research the Sins, or play chaperone to the card sharks," Rude shrugged. "It is also known to arouse Envy in others, even the most strong-willed." He paused. "You find this disturbing."
Ami nodded. "That's something the dream mentioned, too... a curiosity that might become jealousy. I was told to not talk about it, but I'm not sure if that will help or hurt things."
"In my experience, voicing jealousies only helps them grow. Your first instinct is probably the correct one."
"Can you tell the others about this? If I bring it up, they'll think I'm a loony."
Rude nodded, ever the stoic. "I'll pass it on to Reno, then to everybody else."
Ami smiled. "Thanks."
"No problem."
Ami went back to Squall, her uneaten food still in hand. "Time to save the world... again. We better get ready," she joked. She gave him a kiss on the lips, her arms around his neck. She leaned into him, breathing deeply. "Now I'm ready."

"Leviathan, huh?" Reno couldn't help being annoyed at Reno's interruption of his game, but he'd been half expecting it. "Better wrap up this hand." He gave Nikky a half grin. "Better step on it before Rude steals my cards again."
Rude sat back down. "Just be good to go as soon as we land."

''got it....'' she rolled her eyes slightly and leaned back. ''you were going to winn anyway...'' she folded, not caring, or knowing, if she had won or lost. she grinned slightly and looked back up at him. ''shame we don't have time for a different game....'' she trailed off, looking him dead in the eye. i'm think next time a drinking game....i know some fun ones... you learn a lot about people.... but.... i might have to wait....

"Yeah. A shame and a crime," he conceded with a sly grin, putting the cards away. He got up and stretched out a little bit, checking the charge on his EMR. 75%... the cells on these things can really take a licking. Still that high after the cult brawl... I'm starting to get Rude's point about paying more for quality items. "Yo! Lovebirds! Let's get a move on, yeah? I'm startin' to get claustrophobic here!" He got a comb out of his pocket, reconsidered, and put it away. He gave Nikky a look. "So, looks like I win the bet... ever heard of the Pier Club?"
Rude straightened his clothes out and decided he'd better bug Squall and Ami about getting some more bandages for his ear... all his things were still at the Inn in Midgar, where he'd left them early that morning after the altercation with Mammon. What a difference a day makes.
He ventured back to try and get her attention and walked in on her embracing Squall. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything," he commented sarcastically.
Ami rolled her eyes. Can't get a moment's peace around here... "Something wrong?"
"Just need some more bandages. Wondered if either of you had any."
Ami had been wondering if he ever planned on changing his bandages... they were all but falling off. "I have some in my bag... check my cabin."
As Rude exited, she playfully offered her hand to Squall. "Shall we?"

Rude found the gauze roll and the tape easily enough, but he was having a little trouble finding any antibiotic ointment. She probably hasn't got any... typical scatterbrained kid. One thing he did find, however, which gave him cause for pause...
Two pictures in a small metal frame, one of those open and close travel jobs with two compartments. The one on the right was of her with her older brothers, whom he recognized too well as the "boys" he'd fought a year ago. The one on the left was her with her adopted family-- a balding man in his middle forties, a pleasant woman with long brown hair and a warm smile, and a girl about her age with her mother's hair and her father's twinkling brown eyes.
Even in a portrait, it was clear that Ami did not easily fit into this idyllic family. She still had her albino look in the picture, and her green cat eyes were slitted to almost nothing in the brightness of the camera's flash.
Two families in one frame. And only one person included in both pictures.
But he was considering more than the sentimental aspect of this. In Shinra lingo, "family" means "leverage". If Rufus finds out about her, she won't be the only one who suffers.
He commenced changing his bandages in preparation for departure. Better use extra tape this time.

she grinned and nodded. she crossed her bare legs and pulled down her short skirt slightly. she shook her head and looked up at him. ''no.... but it sounds fun.'' she grinned slightly.

Reno was about to describe the Pier Club's... ahem... colorful atmosphere when the re-bandaged Rude reappeared and spotted Lutz.
"Excuse me, but it seems our wave-making friend is one of your 'Seven Sins'," he announced. "Since you seem to be knowlegdeable concerning these entities, I thought you could offer some insight." He eyed Lutz impenetrably. How are you connected to these things?

Reno resisted the urge to do a full-on facepalm. Once again, Rude proves his absolute skill at stealing my thunder.
"Yeah... about that. According to Rude, there's a bunch of crazy-a** demons out there who want to squish the world all of a sudden, and our wet little friend is apparently one of them." He shrugged. "Piece of cake. We deal with nuts like that all the time. H**l, sometimes I feel like squishing the world myself." He was obviously choosing to not remember his flight of panic earlier that morning to escape Mammon. "But like I was saying, about the Pier Club... song, dance, ridiculously expensive food, lots of free alcohol..."
Rude waited for Lutz to respond. He could wait all day if he had to.

Lutz could not help but listen in to the convo everyone was having about the new Sin.
If we kill this one I may have just about enough Chaos cells to be able to transform......I just hope it never comes me transforming....
Lutz leaded back in his chair and looked at Rude.
Lutz: "They are Ancients from the old world, punished from the life stream for there sins, they are only called apon to kill of other sinners like them....it seems something has changed something....Raja did.....each one having different powers, but their leader Lucifer has unknown power no one has ever faced him or lived to tell it....."

nikky giggled slightly at him and nodded. ''cool... but since you are soooo busy i guess we can't go until you beat up all these bad guys.'' she teased slightly, she was still curious though. growing up on the street, excluded from the rest of the world she knew almost nothing...

Rude felt even more grave than he looked most of the time. "Hopefully, we can find a way to prevent a similar threat of extinction today." He decided it was time to hazard a guess. "How is it they derive power from Chaos cells?" If I'm right and the Wolfman knows something about it, we might be able to exploit the trait. If I'm wrong, or if this Lutz gets defensive, we'll be no worse off for the asking.
Reno all but drooped in disappointment. "Ain't that the truth," he answered Nikky grudgingly. "I just don't get it... I have this funny kind of luck. It keeps me from getting fried alive, but it also seems to drop me into the middle of these big-a** fights with forces trying to rip up the world. Look, as far as I can tell, the world is big and old enough to look after itself while I slope off to the bar for a drink." He gave her a hopeful grin. "So maybe we can pop in for a breather after we drop in on Free Willy."

''and yeah.... that sounds great.'' she giggled slightly and patted the seat next to her. ''come here.... you look tense and in need of relaxation....'' she remembered her killer back and shoulder massages...

Lutz looked down at his feet.
Chaos.....
Lutz: "You see Chaos cells are the best and worst thing to come from the life stream.....The life stream makes it but only to protect itself, but the power of Chaos matches that of Jenova.....The only difference is Jenova is alien to this planet so its power could be limitless for all we know but Chaos....Shinra found Chaos through its studys with the life stream when they used it to power up their city. Through the testing done of both me and Vincent Valentine Shinra learned Chaos could be used as both a source of power and a source of life....The way I see it the Chaos Cells ripped from my body gave life to these Sins for they are ment to protect the planet from sinners as do Chaos is ment to protect the planet......These Sins are free though something is out of place they should only be able to hurt people who sin not the world....."

Reno shot another LOOK back at him. Ask me if I f***king care!
He sat down. "It has been a while since I got to unwind..." he hinted. Finally, my patience pays off.
Rude facepalmed himself. He facepalmed quietly and was even decent enough to turn away first so the others wouldn't have to see. Sometimes a person just has to facepalm. "Walk with me, Lutz." He went towards the exit hatch and waited for the ship to touch down. Where is it written in the handbook that I'm my partner's keeper, anyway... oh, yeah. Page 8. "Is there a way you could possibly remove your Chaos cells from the demons, as Ami removed alien cells from Jenova during the battle? If there were some way to accomplish this, we might be able to weaken the creatures."
