her eyes widened slightly as he kissed her. what the heck just happened??... omg he just kissed me... she kissed him back slightly, unsure of what to do next. this is.... so weird.

This is unreal, Reno told himself. Kissing is definitely not a new experience for me. But this... This is unlike any kiss I have ever participated in.
He closed his eyes and put a hand to her face as he deepened the kiss. What the h**l was I waiting for earlier?
Rude chose just that moment to walk in. He nearly dropped his cell phone. "Holy c**p," he commented quietly.
Reno jumped, suddenly alerted to the realization that he was being watched. The kiss broke off. "Er, hey, partner..." Rude, your timing is absolutely impeccable. How is it you always know just the WRONG moment to come walking in on me?
Rude crossed his arms and observed the pair with an impenetrable air. "Hey yourself."
Rene gave him a killing glare. "Can you not see that I'm a little busy here?"

she touched his hand on her fce and kissed him back, not really wanting to go further....
rude walked in...
nikky pulled away and looked down, completely embarrassed. i think my hopes of befriending this guy have been killed.... oh well. that was... amazing. she tried so hard not to blush...

"Right," Rude said simply. He kept his same old impassive expression, but the hilarity of the situation was not lost on him, and inside he was laughing uproariously. Reno, stop acting like you're still in Secondary-- you aren't going to get busted for kissing somebody... He began to exit the area. "We could continue our discussion later..."
"No!" Suddenly Reno wanted to delay the moment he would be forced to deal with the aftermath of his actions... indefinitely. He got up and tried to get his partner's attention. "Er, what's the latest?"
"Nothing that can't wait," Rude insisted, returning to the exit hatch for the express purpose of eavesdropping on what would follow. Let's see how you smooth-talk your way out of this one, Reno.
Reno turned back to Nikky. I'm one of those weird people who cannot blush... but if I could, I would bigtime.
He sat down next to her again. "Er..." For once, he was at a loss for words. "Uh, look, Nikky..." He scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I'm not... really sure what just happened, but, for me anyway... it was out of this world. I'm not kidding." He took her hand and somehow managed to make himself look at her face. He wanted her to know he meant what he was saying.

she watched them and calmed herself. wow.... this is weird.
after he sat back down she looked over at him with bright eyes. this guys lost his mind.... i hope he knows what hes getting himself into she smiled and giggled slightly. ''yeah.... i know what you mean.'' she looked away before looking back at him and grijnning. ''beats poker anyday, huh?''

Reno had to laugh along. "Yeah. Kinda leaves poker dead in the water." He kept holding her hand, feeling like some kind of kid or something.
Sheesh... Crushes I've had. I've wanted girls before. I've known girls before... in the Biblical sense. But I think this is the first time I've actually fallen in love. I gotta be outta my mind.
Rude, still listening in, had to admit this was somewhat amusing. But his nature refused to let him forsake the realistic side of the situation. When Reno puts his heart into something, he doesn't hold back. If this girl doesn't appreciate that, she may be in severe danger of physical harm... there I go with the whole defensive older brother thing again.
He looked carefully and unobtrusively into the passenger area. He's still just sitting there, looking all spacey and placid. He really has no idea what he's getting himself into. He turned to Lutz. "If we don't get out of this ship soon, the pheromones will suffocate us all."

she nodded and looked down at their hands. she bit her lip slightly and looked back up at him. i don't want to hurt him.... the people that want me dead. i feel like a jerk for not saying anything.... she giggled slightly and blushed a bit. ''i'm sorry to have pulled you into my blackhole....'' she grinned slightly, just playing with him.

Reno shrugged. "Don't take all the credit. I went in there all by myself." He raised an eyebrow at her. "Who exactly sat down by who back at the bar?" Sheesh, that was only a few hours ago... feels like it's been forever. "The only times I do what I don't want to are when there's plenty of money to back it up. Like wearing this c**ppy uniform, for instance... I'd take jeans and a T-shirt any day over this s**t. Dead people wear this stuff." He was trying to make her laugh... he liked her laugh. Trying to make her laugh... grife, I'm getting in over my head... aw, who cares? This is great!
He glanced back at the place he'd last seen Ami and Squall. Guess I can't pick on them anymore.

He remembered the incident that prompted this amusement... hitting the barkeep over the head thanks to a certain reference to his sexual orientation. "You would have done the same thing if people kept thinking you were gay just because you hung around with other girls all the time. I swear, so many people think I'm involved with Rude that it's not even funny. Get real... I mean, let's look at some of the objective facts here. I like the guy and all, he's great to work with, but the man is a stiff, and that's all there is to it. Plus, he's, like, ten years older than me. How and where all the gay c**p got started, I have no idea."
Rude snorted from his position just out of their sight. A person tends to become a stiff after dealing with a raving nutter for fifteen years.
Reno sat a little closer to her. "But if you ever doubted I was straight before, I guess you know better now, huh?"

"Yup, 'cause you know, I have a really long memory," Reno lobbed back, putting an arm around her. "Sheesh, we shouldn't have put the cards away. This ship's taking loger to set down than I thought." He looked around for Squall. "Yo! Skipper! We havin' technical difficulties or what?" He looked back at Nikky. "But y'know, if we don't put down soon, I'm pretty sure we can keep each other busy..."
Rude groaned. First the kid freezes. Now he's pulling out the cheap lines. I swear, the boy cannot make up his mind when it comes to women.

nikky laughed slightly. ''yeah... in your dreams.'' she leaned up against him and cuddled slightly. she hated to admit it but she needed the comfort right now... all of this brought back so much pain. she told herself not to cry and smiled slightly.

He sat back and relaxed... normally, the pre-mission high would be taking hold right now and he'd be bouncing off the walls, but since leaning on him was something Nikky seemed to like, and since he incidentally liked to be leaned on, he figured it might be a good idea to practice a little self-control for once.
Despite the degree to which he was enjoying himself right now, Reno could not help but notice Nikky seemed a little bit... well, sad. That's weird... is this one of those freaky female mood swing things, or something worse? "Hey, are you all right?" He braced himself... asking that question often got him into trouble.
Rude nodded to himself. Now that's more like it. Just be yourself, partner.

nikky stared forward silently before breaking down into tears and burying her face in his chest. she sobbed and shook as she clung to him. the tears already soaking that part of his clothes. ''no reno...'' she choked a sob. ''i'm not alright...''
