Kamen blinked and stared at the situation in shock and cunfusion. His brain was not awake enough to deal with this all at once. He made a face at Reno before catching Nikky's look rom behind him. He was silenced from his comment by her glare....
Nikky looked at all of them and stifled her laugh. So much for bad*** She thought as she looked to Reno. What was going on?
Kamen looked at Kadaj, head tilted to the side. "What?" He asked quietly, recovering from shock. What was the Four Daughters? And why was it on a.... "Then you mean-- My mother got it from-- This means that--??" His voice failed to work as he desperately searched for words. He just looked at Kadaj, hoping he would explain or something....

"Kamen, if that thing is what I think it is, then that means several things. First, that is is insanely old." Kadaj finally managed to prop himself up to a sitting position. "Second, that it is a symbol of the Matrons of the four Seraph houses-- Jenova, Thena, Patra, and Neith." He tapped the pendant again, careful to not brush over its surface this time. "I've seen the symbol elsewhere, in only one other place... a hidden sanctuary for a coven of Jenova worshippers. The place where I was changed... turned into a Chrysalis."
"Who the h**l is Chris Ellis, yo?" Reno interrupted.
Kadaj gave him a long, killing glare. Reno blinked and backed off. "Um, right. You're telling the story, yo. Do your thing."
Kadaj shook his head. "Not Chris Ellis. Chrysalis. When an Alpha Male dies prematurely, an Inferior Male is selected to take on his essence and be transformed."
Reno nodded sudden comprehension. "So that's what Strife was always talkin' about, when he said you turned into Big Wig that one time... I always thought he was using a figure of speech, yo."
Kadaj ignored him. "Bottom line, this pendant is proof positive you are a descendant of a Seraph survivor... possibly, even one of the Matrons themselves."

Kamen blinked a couple of times before sighing. "Jst when I thought my life might go back to be almost normal..." He couldn't help the grin though at the fact he found it slightly funny...
Nikky rolled her eyes. "Wow... we almost thought you guys needed help. Now we find out its just another family reunion." Her sarcasm was friendly though. Light humored.
Kamen shot her glare before looking down at the pendant, holding it lightly. "Hm... so I would have got this from my mothers side, correct?" He looked up at Kadaj. "And it might explain why she never let me meet her side of the family..." He was mainly thinking out loud. "But other then that its just a really old necklace... with a LOT of history behind it...."

Kadaj considered that. "You could have gotten your genetic inheritance from either side of the family. I do recall you mentioning that your father had a more distinctly Seraphic physical description. But as the pendant came from your mother..." He mulled it a bit further. "If both of your parents happened to have Seraph ancestors, that would make the manifestation of your power far more probable. But the odds of two Seraph survivors finding each other and mating... suffice it to say they cannot be high. As for the necklace itself... hmm. It may posess other functions, but as demonstrated a moment ago, it may not be safe to experiment with the pendant to find out about them. And a few things I can see from simple visual analysis... Thenids, among the houses, had a peculiar skill for creating devices to aid their abilities, mainly because their abilities often diulte enough to require aid. Though your parents could have been of any house, a Thenid more than likely created this."

Kamen had forgotten about his father for a minute... He nodded and thought about. "Well... I barely know most of the things you're talking about so I think we should wait until Yazoo comes back before we get into this too far..." He paused before sighing. A new wave of guilt hit... it would have been so much easier if his parents were both still ALIVE...
Nikky rubbed her temple. "Okay... you guys seriously give me headaches." Her tone was light humored though. She tugged on Reno's sleeve. "Lets go back... they obviously don't need our help."

"If anything, his explanations will be even less clear than mine," Kadaj warned. "Brains of this outfit I may be, but I've despaired of ever understanding him."
He sighed, knowing better than to try standing just yet. "Have we got any of that aspirin left?"
Reno felt Nikky's prodding, and realizing that none of his coaxing was going to bring Loz out of his blubbering stupor, he shrugged and turned towards the door. "Whatever... let's get back to Lekki's 'welcoming party'." He grinned and followed her out the door.
Kadaj waited for Kamen to bring back the meds... he remembered something. The file he'd stuffed into his coat... He pulled it out and began to read.
((You'll have to fill in the blanks there...))

Suddenly, a sweep of light blasted through the curtains. Startled, Kadaj dropped the paperwork-- not so jolted by the luminosity as by the wave of psychic disruption he suddenly sensed, orginating from roughly the same direction as the beam of light.
He bolted to the window and shoved the pane of glass aside. "S**t," he muttered. "That's Squall..."
He saw the man's motorcycle swerve erratically, righting itself barely in time to avoid a head-on collision. Cripes.
He glanced back at his bawling brother, at Kamen. He once again felt the nagging vacancy that his third brother had left behind to save a woman he'd barely met.
Ami will never forgive me if I just let Squall kill himself.
He pulled his coat tighter around himself and made a beeling for the door. "I'll be back," he informed them tersely.
Loz glanced up. "Where--"
Too late. He could already hear the cycle starting.
((To Lower Junon))

The airship hovered towards Junon's borders. Ami left the Infirmary for a moment to peer through the forward portholes as she felt her brother's presences grow stronger. We're coming, boys.

Kadaj motored to a stop outside his door.
Upon entry, he found the other inhabitants of his room were all down and out. "Look alive, gentlemen," he instructed.
No response.
He sighed and got Loz's pile bunker, charging it to critical levels, then releasing the charge with a loud crackle that startled Loz and Kamen out of their drowsy stupors. "Pack up and move out," he barked. "Or we'll be late to meet our ride."

Kidd was confused as he saw Ami peer out the porthole. He went beside her to sneak a peek. And what did he see, Kadaj's motorcycle. So, we've found more of our allies. Kidd looked to the direction of Cloud. A bittersweet reunion I suppose.

((Not quite. His cycle wasn't resurrected with him... the cycle he's using right now is a rental.))
Amir returned to the thingpit. "Over there, Abel," she suggested. "That courtyard looks big enough!"
He lowered the ship towards the cobble-stone street, and Ami sprang out of the cargo hatch atop her ever faithful Gunmetal, engines roaring, before the landing gear even touched down.
"That was obscenely and needlessly dangerous," she observed to herself sarcastically. She idled for a moment, waiting for the others to catch up.
****
The packing was underway as Kadaj began raining a barrage against Reno's hotel room door. "We've got places to go, people!" he insisted through the door. "Let's lock and load!"

"Hey" Kidd followed suit jumping out before the landing. Unfortunatley, Kidd hadn't gotten a nice little vehicle yet, so he fell with a thud. "Ow... pain... lots of pain..." Kidd stood up and dusted himself off. "Well lets get going."

Ami shook her head and help Kidd get into the sidecar. "Anybody else feel like tagging along?"
Cloud demurred. "I think we'd better see about getting some supplies before we launch ourselves into oblivion," Cloud commented. ""It's not as if any of us actually thought about where we're going next, right?"
Ami reddened slightly. She HAD overlooked that.
"We'll lay our plans while we wait for you," Cloud assured her.
"Meanwhile..." Vincent checked his rifle for action, which was difficult without two hands. "I believe you should have some preemptive force on your side, in case your brother has tracked you this far."
He joined her on the bike, to her atue objections. "Vincent, no. You're injured beyond all reason. You should stay here and heal."
"You said Reno would be with them," he pointed out flatly. "If anything, I'll heal faster if I accompany you."
Ami shook her head. "Stay here. I'll bring him back soon enough--"
"Ami." The word sounded more like an order than an address. "I was not merely making a suggestion. I am accompanying you to the Inn."
Ami sighed. "OK, OK. Be that way. But when you fall off the back of this cycle because you can't hold onto me and carry that gun at the same time, don't expect charity from me."
She roared off.
****
A groan and a thump told Kadaj he had succeeded in forcing Reno into wakefulness. He moved on to Rude's room. "Daylight's wasting."

"Thanks for the help. Now why are we taking so much precaution. Wait... is it possible ShinRa is here already?"

"Shinra is granola nuts compared to what I'm worried about," Ami replied, her voice muffled by the wind and her helmet. "Vincent didn't exactly lose his hand in a hunting accident, you know."
****
Ami arrived at the hotel just as the sun finished clearing the horizon. Her brothers, looking slightly worn and disheveled, were hanging around in the shadows just inside the Inn's walls, carrying the odds and ends they'd accumulated.
She drew up the cycle just a few feet short of them. "Morning, boys," she chirped.
Before she knew it, Loz had engaged her in a crushing hug. She gagged slightly to indicate either her gladness to see him again, or her distress at him crushing her ribs, or perhaps both.
Reno peeled away from Nikky and opened his mouth to salute the others, but a yawn emerged instead. Rude stood at the back of the crowd, even more quiet and standoffish than usual. The others had written it off as him just not being a morning person. Reno knew better-- he could not remember a day that Rude had not been awake and ready for action at the crack of dawn. But then... maybe this trend could be explained by the fact that when he went back to spy on his partner again that morning, on the way to the ice machine, Rude wasn't there.
Kadaj approached Vincent, watching him silently. "I see you're a man of your word."
Vincent gave a nigh undetectible nod. "I'd defend it with my life."
The pair glanced at Ami, who was happily catching up with Loz. Then Kadaj's eyes strayed back to Vincent's now absent claw. "Looks like you almost did."
"I know what real pain is." Vincent examined his stump silently for a moment. "This is not it."

Kidd exited his seat and stretched. So he gangs all here. He looked over the crowd naming each in his head for refreshment. Finally, Reno, Rude, Nikky, and.... wait, no Squall...
