Squall hung his head and stood silently... I appreciate the gesture but... Your tearing me apart Squall swallowed hard " I couldnt bear to stay" he murmered, his voice cracking. I just want to forget this pain, this despair... Squall straightened himself up and marched out of the room, " ...sorry"

Ami didn't know whether to follow him or let him leave... How can I ask him to tell me more... when I already know the truth?
She shook her head, her mind reeling... Rinoa... his first love... she died and he couldn't bear to stay...
Her eyes shimmered with tears as she watched him leave. How can I ever tell him... that it's all my fault? She shook her head. It's all so clear now... Adel was one of us. She wanted to die of shame as the pieces fell into place. A relative of Jenova... a Calamity that adapted itself to its environment... She had her followers as well, even after she was defeated, just as my "mother" did. They knew one day, by some kind of foresight, that Squall would help me defeat her... they tried to stop him and killed Rinoa instead... but their plan backfired when he met me in the mountains...
She dropped her head into her hands. My G**, Squall... She began to shake. What will happen... if he ever finds out? She stayed where she was, disbelief and fear filling her mind... How can I ever look him in the eyes again?

Rude had found some very good explosives hidden in the cargo crates... rigged up to his detonator, they could easily wipe out any kind of temporary facility Shinra had strung together in that crater... He saw Squall leaving the c0ckpit, looking like he was walking out of a nightmare, and realized Ami was not following him... What's going on? They have a fight or something? He shook his head. That'd be all that we needed...

nikky had fallen asleep in a random cot/bed. she slept lightly to regain her strength.
kamen was staring at his hands as he thought over things. he sighed and closed his eyes, running a light hand over his mark. he cringed and let out a ragged breath. this was too much for him... he had to make it stop. but how? he couldn't leave.... never. he sighed and hung his head.

Reno sat down next to her and touched her shoulder gently, trying to wake her up. He shook her slightly. "Nikky?" He tried very hard to keep his voice from shaking. What is she going to think when she wakes up and sees me like this... no way I can pass this off as the results of a bad cup of coffee, is there? He shook his head at himself, smiling ironically. "Nikky, wake up." I've got to do this before I lose my nerve.

nikky groaned slightly and opened her eyes. she c0cked a brow at him before grinning lazily and sitting up. ''hey reno....'' she yawned and rubbed her eyes. ''whats up...??''
kamen slunk back in his seat and yawned silently. he closed his eyes and took deep even breathes.

He smiled at her, somewhere between glad and not so glad she hadn't noticed the difference yet... I could keep it from her, but it's only a matter of time... He looked down at his hands ruefully. "We're here," he repeated. "We're parked at the edge of the crater... kinda like living on the edge of the world's biggest toilet bowl..." He laughed slightly, trying to lighten up a little bit. How the h**k do I break the subject? "Uhmm..." He scratched his neck and looked around uncomfortably. "Look, Nikky..." Here it goes... "Have you noticed anything... unusual around here?" Sigh... why do I gotta start off cryptic? I'm getting senile already.

He had to laugh at that... but it was a laugh that covered pain. Easy does it, Reno... He looked up, into her eyes. "That... WOULD be unsual, I'll give you that." He chuckled a couple more times and held her hand to his face. "The fact is, Nikky..." His stomach sank, but it was too late now. He took the plunge. "I'm... changing. I'm getting older... and by that I mean, a lot older, really fast. But it's OK..." He rushed onward before she could get too upset or panic. "I know who's doing it, and after we beat up the carbon copy guys down below, we're gonna get him, OK? It's cool, really it is..." But inside, he felt his heart getting sick. He thought to himself... What if it turns out I'm lying... NO WAY. He shook himself. Come on, Reno, you can't let yourself think things like that. He put on a brave face. "You'll just have to put up with me looking a little more 'dignified' for the next couple days, that's all." He grinned at her, hoping she would accept the joke and not be too upset...
I promised. I'm gonna stay here for you, Nikky... no matter what it takes.

nikky blinked and listened carefully. she nodded slowly and solomnly. ''okay.... '' she giggled and stroked his cheek. ''awww but i like you looking young and lively.... oh well.'' she grinned.
kamen tossed and turned uneasily, the voices echoing in his head. he flinched and turned.

He grinned back at her and pulled her into a gentle hug, putting his head on her shoulder...
And let just one fearful tear slip out of his eye. There. That's it. She didn't see... I'm allowed to have ONE, aren't I? He blinked rapidly to make sure nothing else showed itself. She can't know how serious this is. He took a deep breath, one just a little unsteadier than he would have liked as he tightened his arms around her. "I love you, you know?" He nuzzled her neck slightly before pulling away. He took her hand. "Come on... we should get ready to bust up this joint." He smiled for her.

Ami tried to pull herself together. She wandered out into the passenger area and sat next to Kamen, rubbing her eyes painfully. Come on, wake up... I need somebody to talk to now, and Squall is not it... d**n me if I ever tell him about this...

she huggled him back and smiled. ''yes... i know.'' she closed her eyes. she looked up and nodded, smaling and taking his hand.
kamen stirred slightly and flopped to the side. his head fell on her shoulder lightly. his breathing was steady and light, his eyes fluttered slightly but he still slept. he body curled slightly, head still on her shoulder ever so slightly.

Ami froze. She looked at Kamen out of the corner of her eye and poked his shoulder cautiously. "Uh, K?" Right now is not the time to have boys falling on me... She sighed. I just found out that my aunt murdered the love of my life's ex-girlfriend. My emotional balance is so off-kilter, I could throw up... being slept on is not an ideal condition to add to this.
Especially when the person doing the sleeping is a dead ringer for my dead brother.
She swallowed and poked him again. "Um, Kamen? Ground control to Kamen?"

Reno stood up and brought her with him. "Come on... the rest of the love boat here is waiting to get a move on." He snickered slightly. "And by the way... you'll never guess what I caught Ami and Squall doing..." He began to head for the corridor.
This won't be easy... but when I've got her with me, how can I be scared?

Squall lay in his room with his hands over his eyes. Whyd I have to mention the name Adel?... Had to go open my mouth about things... * Rolls onto his side* I hope ami doesnt have any more questions... Im on this planet now, why drag up the past? * Rolls onto his back again* Hope things arent going to be too awquard... I shouldnt have left like I did... argh look at me! Im like a little kid!!!
Squall closed his eyes and pictured a small boy standing outside a creepy building in the rain
" Dont worry sis... Im doing alright..." A small tear ran down his cheek " Im gonna grow up and come find you one day... " he cried some more " But im alright..."
Squall opened his eyes and sat up suddenly, I was so pathetic... Squall paced around his room growing more and more uneasy, Look at me now though? Have i really changed that much? " Gragh!" *punches wall* " How can I move on when shes asking me to live it all back..." squall turned his back to the wall and slid to the ground, Its all my fault...

Ami heard him hit the wall and jumped, startled. GEEZ!
Kamen's head lolled off her, jolted off by her brief access of panic. She watched him to see if he'd wake up, but he stayed still. She leaned back, the stress and the pain mounting to killing levels.
She let out a deep, shuddering breath. I did this to him... I have to undo it. She pushed herself up off her seat. This is all my fault.
She walked numbly to his room and hesitantly knocked on the door. "Squall...?" She hardly expected him to answer. She leaned her forehead on the door jamb, wishing she could just die and have it over with. "Squall... I'm sorry." Her voice broke a little. "Please forgive me..." How can I dare ask that of him after what I have put him through? If it hadn't been for me...
She wilted, trying so hard to keep from crying...

Squall looked up towards the door, ... Christ... didnt think about how shed be feeling?... Aargh ive made a mess Squall stood up and headed towards the door, but stopped just infront of it. forgive her for what though? Im the one with the problems? Squall took another careful foot forwards and listened for any noise on the other side... He could hear her breathing shakily on the other side. " ... Its ok" Squall didnt open the door, embarrased at the state he was in. " I know its all past and I should let it all go but... im just... *sighs* It hurts... unbearably..." Squall walked back towards his bed and sat on the edge, " Could we go without me telling you all my memories?..." ... Squall your a wuss
