Maybe this belongs in Fan Fiction, but if all else fails, I can move it later. Anyway, I was cruisin' on YouTube the other day and browsed some FF7 clips to satisfy my FF7 multimedia jones (I haven't got FF7: AC on DVD yet, so I have to tide myself over somehow). Diff'rent strokes, I guess... you have to admit, FF7 does conform to a lot of anime cliches and stereotypes, which are very easy to make fun of: the bratty kid (Yuffie), the impossibly virtuous maiden (Aeris), the angsty hero (Cloud), the "token American cowboy" (Cid), etc.... The only one that seems to be missing from AC is the Big-Nosed Villain. All the same, I love the movie-- the cliches are all part of its charm for me. I prefer to look at spoofs of the Trailer Parody calibre as affectionate roasts.
