Name: Jared Tseng (AKA Fruxas Shinra)
Age (temporal): Approx. 1 week
Age (physical): 5 years
Age (psychological): 18 years
Species: No pure Seraphs still exist-- even the Primes are only half-blood. As Jared's father was human and his mother half Seraph, the boy is predominantly human, but the quarter Seraph blood runs strongly in him.
Height: 3'10" (slightly tall for his age)
Weight: 65 lbs
Hair Color: Pale blonde
Eye Color: Blue-green, cat-slit (Jenovan eyes)
Weapons: Orphan's Curse, a gasoline powered crossbow carrying 90 lbs of impact per bolt
Materia: Rarely needs it-- enormous potential was unlocked by the mixing of the Jenovan and Shinra bloodlines. The full extent of the boy's power is not yet known. His specialties seem to mainly include extensive manipulation of matter and embryonic telepathy.
Personality: Quiet, solemn. Extremely intelligent; grows indignant when others assume he only posesses intelligence corresponding to his apparent age. (Knowing that others must continue under such illusions if he expects to maintain his image of normalcy only frustrates him further.) Quick to hostility when threatened. Finds it difficult to trust others, even when he knows their main concern is his best interest. Cares for only one thing on this planet... his infant sister's well-being. This can be owed to both his primal instincts, inherited from his mother, and to the traumatic experiences he has been forced to endure. The loss of his parents plunged the boy into deep depression, and advanced his high level of self-reliance into cold, impersonal seclusion. The child is desperately lonely, but too afraid of being hurt to seek companionship.
History: Created via a genetic splicing mechanism in the Dark Netherspace from the basic genetic codes of Rufus Shinra and S15-Xima, Jared was born already physically matured to the age of five. His mental maturation accelerated exponentially as he journeyed across Wutai with his mother, who trained him in the warsome ways of his nearly extinct race in anticipation of the day he would finally meet his father at the Northern Crater.
That day came quickly, bringing unexpected results. Rather than terminating Rufus, Xima forged an unlikely alliance with him... a mistake that cost them both their lives. However, it did produce a new life: a baby once called Jenova and eventually re-christened Hope.
Though the strange "family" only maintained its existence for two days, the time Jared spent with his parents impacted him deeply, and he keenly felt their loss. Matters were complicated still further when he encountered a version of himself from twelve years hence, who had become part of an underground revolution against the oppressive Shinra regime.
After the timeline was reconstructed by this future version's actions, Jared found he was one of only four people on the planet to recall the time traveler's visit. The memories he was left with were not good ones; in fact, Jared's teenage self left the mental chronicle of his entire lifetime with the younger iteration. From this foreshadowing, Jared has learned but one thing: the life he pursued after being orphaned was filled with strife, misery, and loneliness. Having seen the pain his attempts to do the right thing brought, Jared is determined now to try a decidedly different approach...
Moral considerations, affection, and trust are no longer factors in his decision-making process. From now on, self-preservation and his sister's safety are his only concern, despite the pain and isolation he has thus far encountered by utilizing this philosophy...
