Tseng scrambled to his feet, careful not to jostle the baby too much as he caught Jared before he fell, setting him down into a sitting position.
"I dont know how to fix this stuff Jared, come on, I'm gonna need your help to get you better, now think. Is there anything at the Shinra labs we can use to help you?"

Jared put a hand on his forehead. "Think," he muttered to himself again. "No... nothing there..."
You know this. You can feel it. It's in your blood. Just think.
He tried to remember. He saw murky figures, like shadows on smoked glass... Snatches of words, like someone speaking underwater... Ancient memories from another planet, where the sunlight wasn't yellow, it was blue...
Another dying child, a girl, with eyes like his... Amber streaks discolored her face... But she didn't die, she lived... and she remembered, and learned to hate the ones who wanted to kill her... her hate destroyed her world...
She had lived. That was the important thing. She had somehow survived...
"Three to heal. One cure."
It was gibberish. It made no sense. But it had to have made sense once. Three to heal... "Come on, think!" Jared demanded of himself.
The baby whimpered, sensing his anger and frustration...

Tseng looked around at the sound of approaching sirens, more security forces were being called in because of the fight, they would be coming to find them now...
"Come on, I'll hotwire us a truck so we can get somewhere safe to figure this out."

He stumbled along, holding Tseng's hand, mostly to affirm the fact that yes, he was indeed still connected to reality somehow. Transportation...
Jarede almost shuffled to a stop. Wait. Wait.
Transportation.
Our kind is from another planet.
So whatshername couldn't have very well walked here.
"Their ship... the cure must be there..."

Tseng looked back at Jared, still holding his hand. This just kept getting more and more confusing, he didnt know anything about remnants and based on the little experience he'd had with them face-to-face... He probably wouldnt be able to learn much if he had a lifetime...
"Whos ship? What are you talking about Jared?"

Jared looked at him with something approaching irritation. "Something else survived the death of the motherworld... I told you..." He jerked and started coughing again. After the fit passed, he gave it another go. "A million memories torn apart by their poison..." Another memory surfaced. Jared almost collapsed from shock. "The Larval Queen... here? Isis... she was the Larval Queen? Relativity... my G**..."
He almost fell down again, but regained himself before his legs could crumple entirely.
He looked up into Tseng's eyes.
"The Memetic War... it isn't over. All of us, or all of them, will die."

"Oh man..." He said, sighing. "Alright, so what do we do now? We find this ship?"

Jared nodded, his eyes glazing. "I don't know what else to do."
A wave of anger came to meet from him somewhere not far away... "Let's go... someone's coming."
He lurched towards the nearest truck. "This one'll work. Whatever," he mumbled, starting to black out. He jerked awake as the baby screamed protest, but soon began to slump again.
He tried to breath deep... Which way to go... I can't catch the signal...

Tseng lifted the baby into the cab of the truck, then Jared a moment later, leaning Hope against him so she wouldnt be upset. He then hurried around to the other side and opened the door... and felt someone grab his arm. He turned to find himself facing a security force officer. "Scuse me sir... May I ask you a few questions?"
Tseng thought it over a moment, he couldnt exactly play it off like he wasnt in a fight... His clothes were ripped up, he had cuts all over him and he still had his EMR's on him... So he didnt say anything at all. He simply decked the cop in the face, sending him flying backwards. Tseng jumped into the cab quickly, hotwiring as fast as he could.
Outside, another officer saw his fallen comrad and called out for backup, just as Tseng hit the gas and sent the truck speeding around the nearest corner, more security force officers came running up to the scene.

Jared gave up trying to scent the ship. I have too much human blood in me... I need a purer Seraph's help... but the only other surviving Seraphs are my enemies...
Unless... I go for help to Seraphs who HAVEN'T survived...
"Tseng... we need to go back... get us to my father's house... we'll get help there... to stop the Patrans, we need the alpha male."
He wanted to hold the baby and keep her safe as they careened around corners to outspeed the security forces, but he barely had strength enough to keep himself conscious.

Tseng looked at Jared incredilously.
"The Alpha male? I dunno if I'm getting this right, but wouldnt the alpha male be SEPHIROTH?" He asked, Tseng didnt know if Jared was thinking clearly right now, but he got onto the appropriate highway anyways just in case the kid was right... But just thinking about it gave him a bad feeling in his gut... Sephiroth was going to be their savior? That was just wrong on so many levels...

Jared nodded, feeling a little feverish. He wasn't sick... but his mind was telling him that he was. "That would be him... my mother never liked him, either, but we have no choice. The Patrans are our natural enemies... they will wipe us out and then plunder our resources... that means this planet and everything on it. We either gamble on him, or them... and I prefer to take a risk on family anytime."
He leaned against the window, and it immediately misted over-- he was burning up. "We'll need an airship to the next continent. First empty one we see."

Sarai nodded appreciation to Blood. "Thank you very much, young man. Now, another question, if you don't mind."
Her sunglasses seemed to be a bit murky... she took them off to wipe the mud and snow away.
Little did she realize the contents of the vial she had been given-- a black, oily compound Seraphs naturally produced and secreted from thier bodies. A compound which, if used properly, could take control of the bodies and minds of those to whom it was given.
A compound once given, in dilute form, by a Remnant named Kadaj to a group of Geostigma-infected children.
Her brown eyes had changed to the Patran amber cat-slit.
Oblivious to this change, and almost certain her encounted with the Patrans had been a nightmare, she gazed through the sunglasses, was unsatisified, and continued polishing them. "Did you see a man and two young children pass this way? If so, can you tell me the way they went?"

Dark Blood said nothing but raised his hand and pointed in the direction they had gone. "They'll be long gone by now." Dark Blood had now gotten tired of Bloods escape attempts and fired a dark Firaga at him, knocking him out. "Need some help?" Dark Blood asked. A good ally could be invaluable to him.

Sarai nodded, replacing her sunglasses. "Of course. Apparently, I have underestimated the strength of my old rival... any supplement to my own talents would be vastly appreicated, sir. I am Sarai." She extended her hand for a shake. "Have you any reliable form of transportation?"
