Ami made a face, her back to Sunset... How shallow does she think I am? I know what this d**n trip is about... I just want them to relax a little. Sheesh. She turned her attention back to Kamen. "Never got the chance earlier to mention something to you. You did something very brave when you stood up to your master on your own... I never could have faced Jenova alone. Not sure we're been formally introduced..." She stuck out her hand. "I'm Ami."
Ami's parents looked a little annoyed. All that time pressure she tried to put on us, and now here she is socializing with the neopunk. She's going to get a little talking to later...

Rude approached Nikky and Reno. It's time we had a talk. "Mind if I sit?"

nikky looked up and smiled. she shook her head. ''no... not at all.'' she looked down at the sleeping reno before looking back at rude.
he swallowed slightly and forced a smile. ''it was nothing really... '' he tried to blow it off, it made him feel awkward. he shook her held lightly and nodded. ''pleasure, ami... and you probably already know who i am.'' he said meekly. he seemed slightly embarrassed of his past appearances.

Ami nodded. "I've heard a thing or two." She smiled. "If there's anything I know, it's the past isn't always a good indicator of a person's true self." She thought of her brothers, and figured their period under Jenova's influence was a good paralell. She lowered her voice so her parents wouldn't hear... they were seating themselves on the couch to confer with each other privately. "Ever heard of... a trio of neo-terrorists called the Silver Haired Men?"

Rude lowered himself onto the grass with a grunt. "So, it seems you two are, for lack of a better term, joined at the hip now." As usual, there was no trace of humor on him. In fact, he sounded more grave than usual.

nikky blinked but slowly nodded. ''yes... i suppose that would be true.'' she watched him carefully to look for trapts, she was wary of what he was getting at.
kamen seemed slightly relieved by her statement. he frowned slightly at her change but nodded slowly. ''yes... for various sources. why?'' he had also lowered his voice to match hers, unsure of why she was.

Ami smiled at him and dropped the bomb. "They were my brothers. The ones you met back at the Fort, remember? As I'm sure you observed... after Jenova didn't have a hold on them anymore, they changed. They became what they once were again. If they can do that, you can for sure."

Rude kept an impentrable gaze fixed on her. "I've been this guy's keeper since he was ten. At first, I couldn't stand him. But I figured out how to survive being his partner. And after a while, miracle of miracles, I started to actually like him. Ironic thing is, same thing that drove me nuts at first's what I started liking about him... guy's all heart. What I'm driving at here is, first of all, he's a little less slick and cool than he tries to come off, so don't be fooled and be careful about how things develop. Second, it'd work to the advantage of my peace of mind if you two took a stab at getting to actually know each other, beyond the Biblical sense. Don't get me wrong. You're a nice girl. I'm happy for you guys... on the inside. But I want you to know what you're getting yourself into here."
Ami couldn't help overhearing. Wow. He actually said more than thirty words all together at once. Crazy.

nikky listened carefully and nodded. ''yes... alright.'' she smiled. ''i'll try harder to get to know reno... i'm just afraid i guess... i don't know.'' she looked down and sighed. dammit... thats a weakness showing through... ''but i'm happy that you are actually talking to me...'' she looked back up and smiled again. ''i was starting to think you were ignoring me or something...''
kamen nodded and broke the gaze. he felt himself all of a sudden nervous, he felt weak and shy. he had no power behind him, he was vulnerable. ''yes.... i guess i could. if i knew what that was...'' he said quietly.

Rude got up. "Ignoring is not one of my habits. I often choose to not speak... Reno does enough talking for both of us."
He got back into the house and got some luggage, helping Ami cart the things out.

Lana brought her bags back to Ami. "Okay, NOW do they meet specs, Miss Picky?"
Ami glanced at them. "Yeah, that's more like it. Grab some sturdy shoes and you should be set."
Lana stuck out her tongue again. "Only 'cause I want to and not because you told me to," she whined jokingly.
Ami stuck out her tongue in return and grinned at her. "Put your stuff on my bike. We're nearly packed... We'll be on the road in no time flat."
She turned back to Kamen and went quiet again. "Give yourself time to learn. I grew up being the town freak, with a Calamity whispering in my ear. Taking on a new skin was a little disorienting for me, too. I'm still not entirely sure about all the aspects of my legacy... maybe we should form a peer group." She smirked at him. "Former Puppets of Megalomanical Maniacs."
She peeked outside and raised her voice as the last bags were secured. "OK, everyone, back to the Ragnorak!" She grinned at Kamen and put a friendly hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry... I'll watch out for ya."
She went outside and started pushing her bike along. Lana grabbed Butterball and snapped on his leash, following her. The others fell into step.
Rude poked Reno. He twitched convulsively as he came around. "Uno!" he yelled before he realized where he was. He grinned sheepishly. "Uh... we're going?"
Rude nodded. "Come on." He gave him and Nikky a hand up. They actually make a nice-looking couple, I have to admit it. He too started making his way down the drive. Enough to make a man think about how certain things might have been...

nikky nodded after him and stroked renos hair lightly.
kamen watched lana curiously. he blinked before nodding at ami. ''yes... maybe that is true.'' he blinked at the joke before smiling slightly. ''but would it be a good turn out...??'' he asked quietly. he stared at her hand before looking back and nodded slightly. ''okay...'' he said quietly before following everyone.
nikky let rude help her up, she laughed lightly at reno and followed all the rest.

Back at the Ragnorak, Ami settled in after unloading all the cargo. "OK, Sunset, give Squall or Dimitri the coordinates for this village of yours. Time to burn ourselves outta here. Besides, I want to see it on the map display."
Stephen and Nora couldn't help feeling a little put out at Ami's in a hurry attitude. It's like home isn't good enough anymore.

Reno grabbed a seat for himself and Nikky. "This time, some other two lucky contestants will have to be bowled over by G-force, yo." He saw Kamen entering the ship and tried very hard to ignore him.

The man in the cloak stood waiting. "They're finally coming. Took them long enough... my Other doesn't seem to be much in a hurry."

nikky smiled and sat next to him. she cuddled and yawned lightly.
kamen walked in, head low. he silently sulked off to a lone seat and slumped slightly. he stared at his hands as he tried to think of why he was still here. he chewed his finger tips lightly and sighed.

Gdosimirj tilted her head. "I said it wouldn't be on any map readout. And sadly enough, I wouldn't know the coordinates. There's a decently sized plain on the greater mountain of the southern mountain range that we would land on. From there I would escort the group on foot to the village." She contamplated for a moment. "We can go by autopilot until we reach Wutai, but the ship must be navigated manually when we reach the island."

"Well, Squall did manage to teach me how to set the AP before I accidentally knocked him out," Ami admitted. "I can set that and we'll get a move on."
She put in a course for Wutai per Sunset's directions. The ship lifted off much more smoothly this time, guided by automatic systems.
Ami checked the viewscreens to be sure the ship would clear the trees... and chillingly enough, spotted an unmarked black car and several police cruisers parked at her house in the distance. Phew, that was close!
She got a hunch... she flipped the screen to television mode and found a news channel. Sure enough, she and the boys were on the news as primary suspects in the Junon blast, which had resulted in the deaths of lord-knows-how-many goons. She sighed in exasperation as she turned off the display. Swell.
She went back to the passenger area and sat next to Kamen. She grinned at him. "Hey, sunshine. The earth says hello."

Reno put an arm around Nikky and pulled her over to lean on him. "You might wanna rest before we get there." He kissed the top of her head. "You've put in your share of work for the day." He smiled and relaxed in his seat. G** only knows when we'll get a breather after we arrive.

kamen was slightly startled but he looked over calmly. he blinked at her before setting his hands in his lap and fidgetting slightly with them. ''hello...'' he said quietly, glancing about awkwardly. he had never been a real talker, he was trying though. he wanted to fit in.... but it was harder than he thought it was going to be. he sighed.
nikky snuggled up to him and yawned again. she nodded. ''yeah.... i guess you're right.'' she closed her eyes slowly.

Ami spotted Dimitri. "Can you do me a bit of a favor? Sunset says we have to land this thing without coordinates, and I s**k at landing almost as much as taking off. Can you get the directions from her?"

Dimitri looked up at Ami and nodded.
"No problem." He said, going up to the control cabin and finding Sunset there. "Ami tells me we have a bit of a pilot issue."
