Loz pushed the doors open-- they had been locked closed, but a well-aimed blow from the Dual Hound had fixed that. The Upper Fort and Reactor had been abandoned a long time ago-- the deactivation of the reactor had made only the Lower Fort neccessary for local security.
Kadaj looked around and nodded approvingly. "A bit gloomy, but we're not here on photo assignment from Better House and Gardens."
He turned back to the others. "Let's set up shop."

nikky stared at them... she looked a little paler, gaunt and tired. she nodded slightly and waited to be asked to help.

Kidd went and started to rummage through the junk salvaging things for guns. "I might be able to construct a sniper rifle out of this stuff."

nikky shifted uncomfortably. she could build guns... weapons. she could fight too.... but she still was alittle hesitant.

Reno, Rude, and Nikky were the last to get inside. Rude made a move to hit the lights.
A few dusty weapon racks were illuminated, bearing some older-model rifles and such. "These may come in handy."
Reno found an unobtrusive part of the room and sat down in it, bringing Nikky with him. "How're you holding up?" he asked gently, holding her hand. "Did you grab any sleep on the way?"

"Somebody's gotta get some food, and it might as well be me," Ami declared. "Everybody else rest up and check out the arsenal while I grab us some breakfast."
"Hold on," Kadaj said. "No one goes anywhere alone."
"Okay, I'll bring Kidd. They'll need your help if Kamen attacks while I'm gone."
"Not possible, Ami. We will protect your friends, but we are here first and foremost to protect you. That's the way the summon works."
Ami sighed. "Okay, okay, you come with me. But Yazoo and Loz stay here."
"Fair enough."

nikky leaned on him and sighed. ''no....'' she said softly before falling silent for a few moments. ''do you.... want to know?... about me that is.'' she closed her eyes, a little faint.

Loz watched Kidd leave. "Thought he'd never go," he joked. He stretched. "It's good to be back in a body again, that's for sure."
Yazoo nodded. "Agreed. Want to spar?"
Loz grinned at him. "Always."
They ventured out onto the roof for a little bit of "game time".

Reno put an arm around her, stroking her hair. "If you're ready to tell me. I want to know everything about you: the good, the bad, and the ugly." He smiled a funny little smile. "Though I doubt we'll encounter much of the third category. I do think I mentioned it, but I'll repeat myself just in case: you are the most beautiful girl I ever met." He kissed her cheek gently and took her hand. "You can tell me anything."

Ami and Kadaj were on their way down to the nearest market. The landscape, Ami couldn't help but noticed, looked rather ravaged.
"The work of the Sin of Anger," Kadaj observed, almost bitterly. "That is something I'd know a lot about."
Ami shrugged. "You went through a lot."
"That's what I told myself. But in the end, that was no excuse."

Kidd walkedout and placed 3 snipers on the table. "Each scope has been modifiyed for 10x. They can hold five rounds per clip and take Ami's acid rounds. Each one folds up for easy accsess and transportation."Kidd left them on the table and went outside to get some fresh air.

Rude's ears pricked up as he eavesdropped on this conversation from his position against a blank wall, where he'd been trying to catch a few winks. He stayed quiet and kept his eyes closed, thinking he'd learn more if the others thought he wasn't listening.
Reno's eyes widened. What? He shook his head. "That can't be all there is to it... I mean..." He stopped himself and reorganized his reaction. He lifted her chin and looked into her eyes. "Nikky, in case you didn't notice, so am I. That's what a Turk is-- somebody who kills in the name of the almighty dollar. I've done a lot of horrible things. But that's all behind me now." He meant it, too-- If we get out of this, I'll never work for Rufus Shinra again. He's an evil a**, and besides, the money is s**t. "Whatever you've done, you can leave that behind, too. Tell me more."

Yazoo grunted as Loz pinned him AGAIN. "Three for three, brother."
"Don't rub it in," he grunted, shoving Loz off him. He spotted Kid walking about below. "No one's supposed to go out alone," he reminded. "Come play with us instead, huh?"

nikky sighed. ''i went to kamen for help... i had killed a friend. i needed to hide. he told me he could help... but he... he made me kill all of them. i couldn't do anything. i was so helpless...'' she sighed. ''it only got worse... i stole, i killed at his will.... i couldn't get away....''
