Gdosimirj glared at him, not letting down her guard for a second. "If you think you can take me back to Shinra, you're out of your mind!" she spat. Then she paused for a second, looking confused. "What do you take me for, anyway? You put me on a ship without any kind of surveillance or security, no doors barred, and you even leave me my guns. On top of it, you make a lazy job of guarding me by taking a nap with playboy bunny over there. F***ing insulting."
She made the mistake of glancing at the girl she was referring to. The image of her wearing a cloak with Reno whipping it off of her flashed into her mind, and she gasped. She tilted her head as if in a trance. "Ten seconds..." She looked back at Reno and snickered. "I could swear the last time I saw you, you were wearing a pink suit with red hearts on it." She shook her head. "I don't know what kind of drugs you people put me on, but none of this makes sense, so I suggest you work on making it make sense, Reno."

"Now, hold the phone. Number one, Nikky is not a playboy bunny, and number two, I was NOT asleep, and number three, I don't even OWN a suit with..." Reno came to a gradual halt as he realized something. "Wait a sec. Did you just say my name? How do I..." Recognition dawned in his eyes. "Hey, now I know you! We used to work the lab security shift, right? This is some kinda joke, isn't it?" He grinned, but that look faded when he realized Sunset was not laughing. "Say, uh, what was your name again?" This girl is tripping big time. Better calm her down before I try to reason with her.

"Don't play games!" she snarled. "If this is what I think it is, you know perfectly well what my name is, and if you honestly don't know, I'm not telling you until I get to the bottom of-" She stopped short as she heard a chocobo calling from outside the ship. Her eyes got a dull, sickened look. "You can't be serious." She kept her gun trained on Reno and and eased towards the window, looking outside. "I don't believe it. That's my chocobo. I actually came here of my own will?"
She eased up a little, not putting her guns away, but relaxing visibly. "Alright, maybe you're not out for me, but an explanation is still required." She waited.

"You musta got hit over the head harder than I thought," Reno remarked. "You honestly don't remember how you got here?" Reno pre-empted her response with a quick review. "Okay, so some psycho dude was trying to smoke my girlfriend, and he had about a million goons, so Two-Tone was laying the smack-down on 'em, but she was going down 'cause she got rid of her Big Wig genes, and Rude was blowing 'em away but the psycho turned him and me and Nikky into stress balls, and then you came outta absolute nowhere and started loading lead into 'em... and that's where I don't know what happened next because I got to my girl and split. I guess you got conked or somethin', 'cause you were solid gone when I got here." Wonder if I over-condensed that...

Apparently, I did... "Okay, let's try again... and quit jabbing me with that thing! I've had enough abuse for one evening!"
He proceeded to launch into a slightly more detailed account of Sunset's appearence during the battle with Kamen. "...and I heard you yelling something, and there was this flash. But I didn't see what happened after that-- I just picked Nikky up and took off. I gathered that you were one of Ami's pals or something, but since you don't remember..."

Ami parked her cycle in front of a pawn shop. "I would have gone back to the surplus place, but they're probably closed by now."
Rude got out of the sidecar, having declined to sit behind Ami, considering his lack of a helmet. (She had seemed secretly relieved at his choice...) "We were about to discuss your friend Sunset."
Ami sighed. "Oh, yeah, that." She wanted to hold off as long as possible, and reveal as little as neccessary. "I haven't known her long... seems she used to be a Turk, or at least on Shinra security." Rude considered that. He hadn't personally known every Turk under Shinra's employ... but he had the feeling he would have remembered Sunset. "But I don't think it likely she would have tracked us down for a social call."
Ami rolled her eyes. He's determined to make this difficult...

Gdosimirj tilted her head- things were coming back. She murmured to herself. "Amnesty... so I did find her." She looked at Reno sharply. "What you say makes sense. I must have cast a particularly powerful spell. That explains why I'm having trouble remembering certain things. But I still don't know if I can trust you. If you are indeed Amnesty's ally, I'd like to see her before I can make any rational decision."
She paused, then slipped her guns back into her belt. "But I have a hunch. I think you won't try anything slick with me." She narrowed her eyes, making a point of keeping her hands near her guns. "Will you?"

Reno shook his head. "Nah." At least not until we're out of this cabin... soon as I get you away from Nikky, you get an express ticket to unconsciousness. His grip on the EMR tightened imperceptibly. You may say you're Ami's friend, but how do I know you aren't working for Kamen? And I know you at least used to work for Shinra... and he won't be happy if he finds out we've been hiding Fifteen Prime from him. Ami, Rude, you picked one h**l of a time to leave me alone here...

Gdosimirj could sense his tension. She decided the best move would be to unarm him, in the strictly communicative sense. She shook her head. "You know something? We got off on the wrong foot." She stuck her hand out in greeting. "I may not trust you with my full name at the moment, but for now you can call me... Dossi." She nearly winced at what her mom had always called her, but it was only safe. She looked at him for the first time with something aside from accusation- a strange sort of respect. "I'd always wanted to meet you. Just not..." she looked around, noticing for the first time that she wasn't even wearing shoes. "..like this," she concluded. She gave her standard funny little half grin.

nikky had been asleep the ENTIRE time. she snuggled up in a sort of ball and mumbled in her sleep. completely oblivious she yawned and slept.
kamen was preparing for another attack.

Reno grinned and shook hands. "Nice to meet a fan." So far, so good... just play along, usher her out to the passenger area... and then make a grab for those guns. "Let's get out of this room... it's getting kinda stuffy, don't you think?"

At the shop, Ami spotted a rather impressive-looking pair of short swords as well as a new black leather coat. "Hmm... interesting..."
"Ami, pay attention." Rude was starting to lose his patience. "Are you sure this woman can be trusted?"
"Oh, definitely," Ami said dismissively, entranced by the weapons. Truth be told, she wasn't sure... but for now, it would be best to avoid those sort of questions altogether. She wanted Rude to accept the woman's presence first, and let Sunset explain the thorny details later. She called over the cashier. "Hey, how much for these?"
He looked into the weapons case. "Which ones?"
"The short ones."
"Ah, the Dragon Teeth. A hundred fifty."
"Not too steep... let me see 'em."
"No can do, miss. I been robbed too many times that way."
Rude coughed quietly. "You have an 'all sales are final' policy, do you not?"
"Yeah, so?"
"So if the girl wants to purchase some merchandise, how does she know it's worth anything unless she can try it?"
"She can find out without sticking those things into me, pal."
Rude grabbed the guy by the collar and calmly began to choke him. "Let her see the swords, please."
The guy made an affirmative squawk and handed them over.
Ami nodded approvingly. "These beat those c***y pistols hands down." She ponied up the cash for the swords, the acid bullets, and the leather jacket. "Here you go, my good man."
The guy put the cash in the drawer, hands shaking.
Ami and Rude exited the store and got ready to make the return trip. "So you only met her this afternoon, and you already trust her wholeheartedly?"
"Not wholeheartedly, no, but I don't think she's gonna go ape-s**t and kill someone when she wakes up."
Ami turned the ignition...

As Reno touched her hand, she could see exactly what he had planned. Not a chance.
Gdosimirj glanced down at the girl who was making muffled noises in her sleep. She smiled. "By all means, let's let her rest. She looks like she could use it."
As they eased out the door into the hall, she kept watch on him out of the corner of her eye. "So... is there any food in this thing, or what?"

"Oh, yeah, on that wall over there..." Reno gestured over as he closed the cabin door behind him. No sooner had the latch clicked than he made his move, lunging for Sunset's weapons...

Ami and Rude got back to the ship and collected her purchases. "I'm starting to deplete my funds here," Ami said ruefully.
"I have some money back at Midgar... if that hotel manager hasn't ripped it off..." He remembered the bag he and Rude had left at the Inn and wondered about the odds of ever seeing anything he'd left in it again. Not very good, I'll bet.
Ami looked admiringly at her new blades. "I was always better with swords anyway. I almost can't wait to try these out..."
Rude opened the hatch and heard a scuffle begin. "You may not have to," he remarked grimly.
