[Amnesty Lazuli]

Ami rocked slightly in her seat, feelin uncomfortable and even a little embarassed. "I don't think I want you to see this stuff... don't get me wrong, I don't think you're going to mess with my head or anything, but I hate even thinking about this stuff, much less picturing it in detail. And some of it is pretty gross."

She sighed, feeling even more tense than before. "All right, here goes. It starts out with me giving birth, right? And two people are watching me. I can tell later, they're Shinra and Sephiroth." She hurried over this part. "That part represents Xima, and the new abomination she's created. I can understand that part. But then things get even weirder. Shinra has these bullets in his hand, and they turn into more Remnants that I've never seen before. They have these slack, soulless faces. They just run around and smash up everything, like they aren't even thinking about it. And then they fade away, and I see..." She squinted, trying to remember the details. "I see this big, black mass trying to consume a white light. And the light stabs out and away from the darkness, but it hits Shinra in the heart and kills him. And the light starts shimmering, like shadows are crossing into it... it merges with the dark, and then this army starts pouring out of it, an army of SOLDIERs. They surround me and all the others... and then the darkness comes down on top of me, and I can't fight it off... and that's where the dream ends." She sat back, the entire disgusting nightmare out in the open. Surprisingly, she felt slightly relieved to not be carrying the vision alone... "Do you have any idea what it could mean?"

Reno didn't mean to eavesdrop, but he couldn't help overhearing. That is one psychadelic dream, Ami. He looked down at Nikky and smiled slightly, but the strangeness of Ami's oracle had dampened his spirits just a bit.

kamen listened, he was caught slightly off guard when she asked him. he cleared his throat. ''um... no, not really.'' he tried to think of all the posabilities. ''well.... all of this could mean maybe a new generation of remnants? ones that have no mind for their own... or maybe just don't care??'' he was limited on his knowledge but hoped it would at least be something.

nikky stirred and yawned slightly.

Ami thought about it. "Maybe, but, where would they come from? I mean, even if he got my cells, he'd only have half the code for..." Ami trailed off. "Half the genetic code..." Her face hardened. 'Xima. Xima must have given him the other half of the code."

Reno didn't like the sound of that at all. His head snapped up towards Amnesty and Kamen. "Hey, what?!" He blinked. "OK, so I was eavesdropping. Who cares? You meant there's gonna be more silver-haired creeps running around?" He noticed Ami stiffen. "Er, no offense."

"Sounds like it... unless we can stop Rufus from going through with it somehow," Ami answered. "Problem is, I don't even know where to begin looking for his new hidey-hole. And there's no way I'm going headfirst into battle with him or whatever monstrosities he has concocted without getting my family out of the way first. THe last thing we need is to give him more leverage."

Ami wiped her eyes, feeling worse every minute. "We have to wake the guys... this is a biggie. We need EVERYBODY's input."

Ami moved off to begin prodding Rude, while Reno gently began shaking Nikky awake. "Nikky, wake up. Serious s**t is going down... again."

kamen listened but had no imput, he hardly knew what they were talking about anyway. but he felt like he had helped her some.... which made him smile.

nikky groaned and swiped at him sleepily. ''why couldn't you say the icecream truck met us in orbit or something cheery? sheesh.'' she sat up and yawned. ''you just have to be the beaer of bad news...'' she grinned at him.

kamen looked over and shook his head smiling slightly.

Reno sighed. "I could use some ice cream, G** knows. I'm too wiped out to spread false hope, sweetheart... sorry." He grinned weakly and kissed her. "Good morning, by the way."

Rude mumbled. "Oh, d**n, Ami... what have you got against the concept of a good night's sleep..."

"Big, bad news, Rude," Ami hurriedly informed him. "Get yourself in gear. Got to wake the others."

She hurried off to the other cabins, first stopping at Dimitri's. "Dimitri, uppensie! We got problems, man."

she grinned and kissed him back. ''i've noticed.... you shouldn't drain so much of your energy.... you'll kill yourself.'' she smiled. ''good morning....''

kamen laced his fingers again and stared at them, he waited for further instruction silently.

Dimitri lifted his head groggily and looked around, apparently he'd been bandaged up, but he was extremely sore, so moving slightly still hurt a great deal.

"Whats going on? Whats our location?" He asked, slowly getting into a sitting position.

"Still orbiting. Get to the group, details coming," she sputtered like stenographer. Ami rousted out her sister, who almost smacked her head off before remembering where she was.

After collecting the remaining members of the group, Ami stood at the front of the crowd like a general in a conference room, preparing to brief the lieutenants. She cringed at the comparison... They say Sephiroth was already a general at nineteen. I'd probably kill half the army on my first day... and the other half would kill themselves in desperation.

She turned to them. "Everyone, it seems we have a new threat-- yes, ANOTHER one-- on our hands. And it's a lulu. My worse half, my Jenova cells, have become an entity to themselves, the one called Xima. She is powerful, ruthless, and prepared to carry on her mother's business." She paused for impact. "But there's more. She had some sort of dealings with Rufus Shinra. Now, she has his genetic code, and he has hers, which means two things. First, that Xima can kill Rufus and take over Shinra herself, using his genes to produce an 'illegitimate child' that she will run the business for. Second, he can take the complete Sephiroth template and produce new super soldiers, genetically engineered to any modifications he sees fit. Both alternatives are equally likely... in fact, one event may even rise from the other."

Ami waited for them to absorb this. "Unless we do something, the two greatest evils this planet had ever known will have us and everyone else at their mercy. But there are several problems. First, we have to see my family to a relatively safe location-- we don't want any more potential hostages. Second, we don't know where to find Shinra or Xima... both have gone incognito. Between the two, there is nowhere we can hide where they will not be able to eventually track us down. What can we do?"

Ami stood firm as she waited for answers, or even more questions... but under her coat, her knees were knocking.

Dimitri listened as Ami spilled out the situation to them all... It didnt sound good.

"What about Tseng? He would know where Rufus is and I'm sure he wouldnt be able to tell you and Xima apart...." Dimitri said from his spot at the back of the room.

kamen thought of any way he could track either of them..... he came to one way. but it was risky, very risky..... would i even try it? yes i could leave my body for lengths of time.... but being vulnerable like that could be the death of me. he waited. ami... how risky are you feeling? he knew she would never let him go alone. she was the only one he knew that could go with him.... besides maybe reno.

nikky frowned slightly. wow.... this sounds bad.

Ami perked up at Dimitri's suggestion. "You're still in contact with Tseng?" She frowned. "But how would my resemblance to Xima help?"

She thought back to Kamen. I'm feeling very risky. These are desperate times, Kamen. But let's hear out Dimitri first. He might have a better idea... if he doesn't, we're on the search right away.

Dimitri moved his shoulder, trying to get the stiffness out.

"Yes, I still have a way to contact him, and as for Xima... if Tseng is so hell-bent on killing YOU, wouldnt he jump at the chance to kill Xima?"

kamen nodded and looked over to dimitri. alright.... i'll listen to his. but i will be ready to go if you are....

nikky listened but saw a look on kamens face. she narrowed her eyes, that wasn't a very good look. hes up to something.... i know it.

Ami grinned. "That he would. Hopefully, he'll miss the fact that he's after a girl with the wrong color scheme. But that still leaves problem of finding her in the first place, and then there's Rufus to consider. I think Kamen and I may have to cover that part." She grinned at him. "And as for my family..."

She glanced over at them and sighed. "The only way to keep them safe is to get them as far from me as possible, or Xima will be able to find them whenever she feels like it."

Rude nodded. "I think I may know where to take them. You and your brothers lived right undr Shinra's nose in Midgar for two years, and we were totally oblivious."

Ami agreed. "My father will hate that idea, but it sounds like the only way."

She turned to Dimitri. "Make the call." She then went to Kamen. "Let's do this." She took his hand and closed her eyes.

Reno put an arm around Nikky. Scary world we're living in... but we'll be OK. We got each other, right?

Dimitri nodded and headed back to his cabin to contact Tseng, then after they landed, he would go in for a meeting to "discuss the target's secret identity". Once he knew where Tseng was, he would know where Rufus was. Then he would let the Xima cat out of the proverbial bag for Tseng to get excited about... It would be tricky, but if it worked, they would be in the clear for the most part.
