"Special, hmm?" Yazoo reined in his bird a bit, who seemed to get more fidgety the nearer they got to the portal. "How exactly did he treat you differently?" They would be near enough to the portal to return home soon, and directly after they stepped through Vikktor would have a lock on him... he needed to learn as much as he could.
Reno snuggled back... he'd missed having times like this with Nikky so much... it reminded him of the first time they kissed, after she fell asleep leaning on him. He was starting to get used to it... being trusted, that is.

"Well... he always gave me the most classified missions and I actually got to meet some of his friends, though their names I never heard. He gave me spending money and never let me go with Michael on his mission because they were 'too dangerous' and I could get hurt or killed." He sounded a little bitter about that. "But I was always far better then Michael who was 5 years older...."
Nikky relaxed and looked around, watching everyone. She liked the warmth he gave off and the comfort of his closeness.

"Hence how you met my sister," Yazoo mused. Trying to catch Nikky... An idea struck him. "Is it possible that we could lure him somehow, if we had Nikkole with us?" He kept his voice low, knowing certainly that Reno would object to that idea... vhemently.
Reno kissed his fiancee's neck gently, enjoying the feel of her in his arms. It was hot out here, and the clouds of smoke drifting out from the pyres didn't help matters much, but that didn't really matter to him... it all just went strangely dim whe he touched her.

Kamen nodded before blinking. "Nikky as bait?!" He said just as quiet. "Reno would kill us.... but it might work. He has never been known to go out into the open... he always sends someone else." He thought about. "I know he'd come out if I was out, or I asked him.... but that would be too risky. Though, I have no idea why he wanted Nikky in the first place... he could try and kill her." He sounded unusually worried about that....
She chuckled softly and snuggled into his warmth. But it was a different warmth she felt... aside from the heat.

"She would be completely safe at all times, of course," Yazoo insisted. "I'm not even exactly proposing using her as bait... I was thinking more along the lines of simply having her present with us and giving the impression that she was our prisoner. If he treated you so specially, we might be able to lull him back into trusting you, at least somewhat... then we'd take him down. Your new capabilities might allow you to disguise your intentions."

He held her and relaxed, but kept in mind to not relax too much. The guide was already slowing his chocobo down to bring the caravan to a halt.

Nikky closed her eyes and thought of random ideas for her and Reno's wedding.
Kamen relaxed and thought it over. "I could see that working, he did favor me a lot... but he would sense the difference in me. Wouldn't he??" He looked over at Yazoo, he was nervous and wary about this whole thing but knew it had to be done at some point... The he could finally rescue his friends.

"That he would, but you would on the same token be able to quite truthfully tell him that you were tricked into it." Yazoo smiled. "Also, you should be rendered fully capable of unleashing mental attacks on your enemies."
The caravan, at long last, arrived at the portal, glowing mysteriously as it had when they arrived. Yazoo pulled his bird to a halt, dismounting. "We'll discuss more of this plan later."
The others were not far behind, drawing up to a halt and taking their things from the pack chocobos. The party gathered around the gap between worlds.
Ami stood facing her brothers as she shouldered her satchel. She cleared her throat, making way for an uncomfortable pause. "Well..." She steeled herself. "I'm going to miss you. All of you, very much."
Kadaj came forward from the trio. The other two fully expected him to bawl her out or forbid her to leave.
He embraced her fiercely. "Be careful, Amnesty." He let go a deep breath. "Be careful."
She hugged him bag, tight. "I will. Don't worry about me." She pulled back and tilted his chin up. "You taught me right. I'll be fine."
He smiled, slightly. She flipped some hair out of his face, laughing. "And for the love of G**, do something about this cowlick before I get back!"
She went around to hug the others before she went, wishing them luck as they bade her the same.
She stopped to kiss Squall, softly and warmly, but even this did not serve to pull him out of his seclusion. She pulled back to look into his eyes... it was as if some light there had gone dim. "I'll miss you, love."
He did not reply.
She sighed. "I don't want to say goodbye either, but this is something I have to do. I won't be gone long, I promise."
He still said nothing. Ami examined him... For the last few days, he's been so... quiet. I thought maybe I was just imagining it because my brothers have been keeping us apart, but... is he OK?
She hesitated... she wanted to ask what was wrong... Vincent put a hand on her shoulder from behind. "Are you ready?"
Ami brushed him off, her look both curious and resigned. "Yes."
She turned and passed through the portal before anyone could bother saying a word to her.
Vincent looked back at the party. "It's been nice working with you."
The brothers were trying to not look at him, but couldn't help noticing he was looking at them.
He passed through after their sister.

Reno got off the chocobo and helped Nikky down as Kadaj, his possessions reclaimed, glanced over at Kamen. "So... time to take on our most difficult tradition." He grinned at him. "Taking on the world."

Nikky muttered something playfully about being able to get down herself before getting her things and looking around at them all. Eck, so serious...
Kamen looked over at Kadaj with a curious look before realizing what he meant. He saw the grin and nodded, managing a slightly more confident look and grin. "I'm ready." He picked up his stuff and looked around at everyone, still a little nervous and anxious.

Rude said thanks to the guide for helping them and gravely offered payment, but the guide refused for two reasons, the first being that his money was bunk here, and the second being that it was an honor to serve the saviors of his planet and so on and so forth and finally Rude just ignored him.
Reno noticed her look of disgust. "I know... something else again, ain't they? These guys could have their own soap opera." He grabbed his stuff and hers. "Well, sayonara and all that jazz, birdman. Check ya later." He turned to Nikky and offered her his arm. "Your escort, doll." He grinned as he walked with her towards the portal. "See ya'll on the other side."
They disappeared.
The brothers gathered with Kamen and faced into the portal. "Once a brother, always a brother," Kadaj claimed. His smirk turned deadly with the expectation of what lay ahead. "And you mess with one of us... you mess with the whole family."
They crossed to the other side, bringing Kamen with them.
Rude shrugged, checked to make sure nobody left anything behind, found a canteen full of vodka, swore a little bit, dumped it out, and went through the portal after the others.
