Jared shrugged mildly. He knew well that his uncle despised that one half of his blood... and despised his mother for giving in to it... and not without reason, of course. But Jared was not old enough or foolish enough to care about principles.
He wanted his mother back.

Ami arrived in the c0ckpit and peered over Abel's shoulder. "Hmm. There's a spot a couple blocks from the bar we used to park the Ragnorak." She shoved away the feelings of melancholy that tried to take over at the mention of Squall's ship. "Your girl here is just a little bigger than that, but you ought to be able to set down there, no problem."

"Sin, it's been a few weeks since I last saw Cloud," she warned. "But keep your jets cool around him for now, OK? Last time I checked, he was kind of on this emo trip..."
She paused as they neared the 7H. The area surrounding had been trashed from top to bottom.
She ran for the bar. "My G**..." Did Sephiroth get here first, or...
Vincent's face was even more grim than usual as he followed.
She charged through the front door... and moments later was tossed back out on her face, almost colliding with Vincent, who only barely sidestepped her.
Tifa emerged, looking more than furious. "I thought I told hyou to leave and never--" Suddenly, she broke off. "Kidd... is that..."
She approached him. "Cloud left looking for you... he thought they killed you."
Upstairs, two small hands parted the curtains, looking down on the scene below. Marlene's eyes widened. "Cloud, come here!"

Sin walked out holding the medication. He popped a few pills then pocketed the bottle.
So... Cloud.... and Vincent.... I should lay low a little... Maybe have Kidd tell them....
He walked over by Kidd and looked at the building. "So this is the 7th Heaven?"

"Or at least it used to be." Kidd looked up to see Marlene looking down upon him. He waved to her then looked back at Tifa. "What happened here?"

"No, no, not them," Tifa disclaimed. "I meant... he thought Shinra had..." She tailed off in shock. "You really are..." She shook her head. "You look just like him."
The door swung open behind her. Cloud stood there, wearing a cast and leaning on a metal crutch. "Kidd. So... you're tougher than I thought." He gave him a brief grin. "Good to see you again. Alive, that is."
Ami slowly got back up, with a little help from Vincent's remaining hand. Cloud gave them both an odd look. "What happened to you?"
Vincent returned the look. "I might ask the same question."
Cloud's face went dark. "Sephiroth happened to me."
Ami brushed herself off. "I was afraid of that."
Cloud nodded. "Him, and a couple friends."
Ami stopped mid-brush. "Friends? What do you mean, friends? He hasn't got any."
A cold feeling came over Cloud. "There were these two creeps, with silver hair and orange eyes--"
"Orange, you said?"
Vincent easily took note of Ami's sudden change of tone. "What about them?"
Ami took a deep breath, the kind that says "we're doomed". "That would make them Patrans."
"Patrans?" Cloud repeated.
Ami nodded. "When I was a little girl, I had nightmares about them. I told my older brothers, and they told me... Patrans were the monsters among monsters. Our homeworld had four tribes, so they said. The fourth was the most abominable of all, a mortal enemy of Jenova's clan. If you think Sephiroth and Xima were bad... Patrans are the creatures that make THEM wake up in cold sweats."

Kidd just looked at all of them then stopped at Cloud. "Of course Im alright, a long silver haired floating guys isn't gona stop me." Kidd began to laugh before stopping. Who am I kidding? When Kidd her of the Patrans he dawned a shocked expression.

Sin stayed in the back, a little way away from Vincent and Cloud.
It is amazing how much I look like them...
He moved closer though, adjusting his buster sword when they started to talk about the Patrans.

"So that explains why they were fighting each other," Cloud mused.
"Exactly. Our clans were rivals on our home planet," Ami explained. "If they think there is even the smallest possibility that some of our family may be left, they won't stop until we are all dead."
Vincent shuffled slightly. He was somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that Ami still identified herself as one of them.
"That means I have to find my brothers, fast," Ami realized. "I have to be sure they see this coming or they won't make it."
"But for now, get inside," Cloud ordered. "I don't feel like risking us all being seen."
"Seen by what?" Ami pressed, but Vincent was already ushering her inside.
It wasn't until everyone was in the bar, in spite of Tifa's protests, that she had a chance to ask again. "Seen by what? Do you think the Patrans are still here?"
"No," he replied. "When Sephiroth left, they took off on his trail. I haven't seen a trace of them since. But I'm more worried about something else. If you brought Kidd here, odds are you've been followed by Shinra agents."
"Shinra Electric is dead," Ami protested, but Cloud shook his head, sitting at the nearest table.
"You may have killed Rufus, but that's only one man of hundreds that kept that company running. Kidd is key to one of the company's biggest secrets. They won't just let him go."
"Then we can't stay long here, whether we find your brothers or not," Vincent concluded.
"But Vincent--"
"No, Ami. We can't endanger them. Not with Cloud injured."

"What is Kidd the key to that would warrant such dangers?"
Sin looked at them, shifting the sword again.
"I know it is one of the biggest secrets, but what does it involve? Is it another Hojo esq experiment or something?"

Ami sighed. "All right, Kidd, I get it."
Meantime, Cloud continued his conversation with Sin. "I can't tell you any more," he replied. "The information would endanger you."
"He's right," Vincent replied. "You of all people would know... Sin Oath."
Ami paused. Wait. When did I tell Vincent his name? I don't think I ever did... how does he know?

Kidd looked to Vincent... Does he already know what Sin is made of? Kidd stood up and looked around. ""Hey Cloud... dad... whens the last time you used that?" Kidd pointed to the sword mounted on Sin's back.

Sin lifted the sword off of his back and handed it too Cloud.
"Kidd said it might be yours. I found it outside Midgar when a monster through a large chunk of mountain at me. It saved my life a few times."
