Sephiroth sprung from the heap of rubble and flung one of the medium sized stalagmites at Ami in a rather rocket-launcher type fashion. As this distracted her, he leapt forward, prepared to bring the Masamune down onto the crown of her head.

Another religious freak sprang out of the shadows at Nikky. Rude tackled him and broke his jaw (perhaps not exactly in that sequence). The guy raised a hand and tried to eject a fireball from it, but Rude just reached out and broke it. Now I'm starting to get Reno's point about materia... exploding things work just as well. The would-be wizard howled in pain. Rude head-butted the guy to make him shut up.

nikky blinked, she didn't see the dude comming. she stared at reno a moment before laughing slightly and stabbing another guy, stabbing him again and kicking him. ''you got blood on me....bastard'' ><

Ami kicked the stalagmite aside, crushing it to gravel. She saw her enemy coming just in time and dropped, rolling under his attack. Her arm shot out of nowhere and snagged his boot-- since it was made of flame, the grab hurt like h**l, but Ami tried to ignore it. She shouted with effort as she hurled him towards the pedestal.
My G**... I never knew I was this strong. Or is it... he's not so strong as everybody thinks? Wait... No one would know better than me! I am all his weakest points strung together! I just need to find something I can exploit...

Reno was starting to feel a lot less crabby. Beating people up soundly did that for him. Now he didn't have to deal with people talking about other people handing his butt to him, which made him very happy. Furthermore, he knew that the remnant chick he'd been after was currently busy being beaten up by another remnant chick, which made him doubly happy. And further furthermore, a very hot chick was currently a few feet away helping him beat people up soundly. If I smile any bigger, my mouth is going to fall off.
Rude wasn't happy. Somebody had just broken another pair of his shades. This was the second pair since the brawl had begun. Further, his bandage was starting to feel a little loose. He starting swinging ever more wildly, trying to wrap this up before he lost more sunglasses... or ears. In a split second lull, he snatched another pair of shades out of his coat pocket and put them on. "Just don't stop coming, do they, partner?"
"Bring 'em on, Rude. Bring 'em on. I could do this all day."
Rude rolled his eyes-- Reno was starting to sound high again.

Sephiroth cursed as he sped towards the pedestal. The speed of his impact combined with his weight could topple it... He grabbed the edge and vaulted over it, landing on the ground on the other side just as it started to tilt towards him. He threw all of his weight into his side of it, and slowly, it rocked back into place.
Sephiroth darted back out into the open, aware that Ami could have been up to anything in the spare seconds that stunt had bought her...
He pointed Masamune into the ground and vaulted over the sword, landing a few good yards from Ami, supercharging his speed as he brought the tip of his sword towards her face...

Ami vaulted over him and barreled directly at Jenova's stasis tube. Let's just test my new theory... She body-checked it, trying to make it topple. It started tipping as she threw herself around the back of it...

she stops a moment to fix her hair. she looks over at them and grins. she shakes her head and punches a guy in the face, hearing the crack of his cheek bone/jaw she kicked him and slit his throat.

Sephiroth growled in frustration and started to generate a blast of fire as he ran towards the back of the pedestal. The fireball, hotter than the ones he'd previously generated, blasted Ami away from the pedestal as Sephiroth sprung into the back of it with a mighty heave, pushing it back into position.
He then stood between it and Ami in a defensive posture, glaring like a pitbull. "Would you like to uphold your beautiful ideals of truth and valor... Or am I going to have to play dirty too, just to even the stakes?"

Ami smiled. Have I ever let you down?
She gave it one more go-around, leaping into the stalactites and scrambling madly for the tube, trying to hide amongst the stone forest jutting from the cave's roof. This better work, he won't fall for it a fourth time...
Jenova tried sending another mushroom cloud of pain into Ami's head, but this time Ami resisted. The strain was terrific, but she hung on. She finally centered herself over the tube and plummeted towards it, sending it backwards. She scrabbled for balance and noiselessly threw herself behind the stalactites just beyond the splicer, waiting for Sephiroth to take the bait...

she gets hit in the side, going down to one knee. she swore and closed her eyes. ''nuts....'' she ducked another blow and tried to fight back.

...But Sephiroth didn't take the bait. He merely grinned and leapt into the forest of stalactites in the roof of the cave, vanishing among the rocks. He knew that Ami would be befuddled by his nonchalant action, but what she hadn't noticed was the remainders of the Cult who had gathered near the pedestal, ready to keep their deity from destruction.
As Ami watched them restore the pedestal to balance, Sephiroth circumvented the roof of the cave nimbly, sneaking up behind her... and then dropped directly in front of Amnesty, a firm kick to the chest sending her into the stalagmites behind her.

Damsel in distress at three o'clock. Reno shot the zealot nearest his would-be girlfriend. Okay, okay, so she has shown no interest whatsoever in being my girlfriend. So what? A guy can dream. He tried flashing a grin at Nikky, but he found unbelievably little time for this as the cult kept picking itself up and throwing itself at him. Only one thing disturbed Reno... the acid bullets were running out, and he didn't want to get within EMR range of these psychos.
Rude was already within arm's length of many of these cretins. It was not pleasant for him. Yet another perfectly good pair of shades ruined. Not to mention he now had a splitting headache, and his bandage had almost fallen off completely. He smacked it back into place and performed a judo kick on a particularly blingified wizard a few feet away.

Ami flew backwards. Oh, not good... She hit the wall much too hard and felt something absolutely unnatural entering her skin. When the dust settled, she was too shocked by what she saw to scream-- a stalagmite jutting out of her shoulder. It was covered in blood... her blood. It apparently hadn't pierced anything vital, and she wasn't spraying blood, so she could assume no arteries were ruptured... A thought hit her. But Sephiroth doesn't know that.
She promptly pretended to faint.

A grin broke out on Sephiroth's face. He approached the limp body- he wasn't going to take any chances.
The Masamune gleamed as he brought it high over his head, preparing to slice her head off. "Whether it be willingly or not, my dear sister, you WILL hand over your cells for the Reunion."
The blade came down...
