Jenova barely even moved as the party came directly at her. She only smiled. "I KNEW YOU WOULD COME TO ME ONE DAY, CHILD... ONE WAY OR THE OTHER."
She sent a beam of energy directly at Ami, freezing her in place in midair. Then Ami felt herself getting weaker... What the h**l... A stream of green particles detached itself from her flowed back along the beam. She's stealing her cells back!
Ami's hair drifted across her face-- she swiped it out of the way and froze in shock. It's turning brown...
"LET THE REUNION BEGIN..."
Ami hesitated for the slightest moment. Let her take my curse away if she wants it...
When she does, her power will be full and this planet is doomed. Our entire legacy is invested in you now, Kid-- if she takes you, she takes it all.
Ami's eyes hardened. "This is MY Legacy, you b***h!" Ami began to struggle, but shockwaves of pain vibrated through her body every time she moved. This isn't working... I need a plan!
Ami closed her eyes and concentrated. If I can draw the thoughts of others...
The flow began to reverse. Ami started pulling her cells back, and her hair started to bleach again.
Jenova seemed only faintly surprised. "WHAT STRENGTH YOU HAVE FOUND, DAUGHTER. BUT I AM THE ONE WHO GAVE IT TO YOU... AND I CAN TAKE IT AWAY!"
She sent a bolt of lightning through the energy stream that held Ami captive. Ami screamed in pain but refused to stop resisting. Her mind began flickering with horrible memories not her own... Memories of death and pain. Geostigma victims... she's using their last thoughts against me!
Her sword glowed more brightly than ever...

Reno eyed that sword. Something about it was starting to ring a bell at the back of his mind, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
Rude shook hands with him. "Been nice working with ya," he pronounced gravely.
Reno nodded. "Likewise." They went over to their car. "She's going to fry us alive, of course. But I can think of worse ways to go."
Rude turned the ignition, pushed it inward, and gave it another turn. A plasma cannon reared itself out of the trunk and took aim at the Calamity.

Lutz took a step forward
Ami is in trouble....
Lutz's eyes glow red as he began to summon....Ifrit the Fire Spirit. Ifrit Burst out of the ground roaring at the Jenova Calamity. The beast dashed at Jenova attacking it with Hell Fire
Lutz also repeated launching exploding fire balls at the Cancer.
Lutz: "Hang in there Ami!"

The Fire had little effect on Jenova herself, but they did weaken her hold on Ami just barely enough. She dropped to the rubble of the collapsed caves. She was dizzy and tired, and had a little trouble finding which way was up. Ow...
Stop trying so hard to be the hero. The others will help you.

Reno and Rude blasted a plasma charge at Jenova. She swiped it aside and threw it back at Reno and Rude.

Dude that was close! Squall ducked underneath Jenova and swung his sword up towards her. Leave her alone! His sword bounced off, Squall swung at her again and again but to no avail, then was sent flying by a massive beam of energy. Winded me a bit there!... Now you asked for it!

Squall stood up and was about to charge when his gunblade started to glow... Squall looked at his ring, Lionheart?... oooooh your in trouble... *smirks* the gunblade started shuddering violently in his hands, A strong wing blew through the cave and Flames started to lick around the edge of his gunblade. Here goes! Squall leapt forward and hacked at her relentlessly, My swords moving me! Squall looked on in wonder as he slashed the hell out of Jenova, Is it working?! he stared deep into the eyes of Jenova... I dont think it is!... Come on! Squall squatted down and with a massive upward swing of his gunblade sent Jenova flying into the air, He leapt up after her and slashed like a man possesed. Elements were flying out of the gunblade, fire, water, ice. Evil pregnant dog! Arggggh! Exhausted Squall dropped to the ground, *pant* did I even hurt her? *narrowly deflects beam of energy* Guess not. * manages to block another* Uh oh * Jenova charged a massive enery attack which blasts Squall in the chest, sending him tumbling through the air. During the battle back at the ship Kidd had fainted into a dream. It was this...  : Now daughter, YOUR MINE! : Ugh!!! Help me... : Let go of her now! Kidd: *Watched as Squall had finished a strong combo.* SQUALL!!! AMI!!! *Kidd launched himself into the air at Jenova. A bright light flashed and he was inside a mine. {Back to reality.} Kidd hears a strange noise and follows it. He sees the battle had begun. "No... just like my dream..." Kidd charges but does not leap to attack. Instead he sends fire at Jenova. |

Evil thoughts and horrifying memories kept pulsating through Ami's mind. She winced, recoiling from the horrors being forced into her brain. The last moments of victims of Jenova and her abominable seed... children succumbing to the 'stigma... families being consumed by the fire at Nibelheim... Aerith's murder... Her brother abandoned when he failed to be a suitable avatar for his elder "sibling"...
One after another, those deaths paraded through her consciousness. The old sensation of fear and hopelessness returned, the sickly sensation of weakness she had known when Geostigma racked her body... Her scar was throbbing...
"THIS MISERABLE LIFE. IT'S ALL SORROW, ISN'T IT? HELP ME BUILD A BETTER FUTURE ON A NEW WORLD, FREE FROM ALL THIS SUFFERING AND PAIN."
Ami was trying to hold on to her senses, but it was getting harder and harder. It hit her: This is what she did to my brothers.
"CALL OUT TO YOUR MOTHER, AND SHE WILL ACCEPT YOU... SAY IT..."

What is happening to her?!
When she reclaimed her cells, she pulled some others from Jenova as well. This increased her power... but likewise the darkness within her. Jenova now has a considerable stake in your sister's mind, and she is exploiting that stake to its full potential.
Then we have to do something!
No. She has to either stand or fall on her own in this battle. We cannot change what is inside her heart.

Ami opened her mouth, a funny little smile on her face. "Mother... F**KER!"
She sprang up and swung at Jenova with all her might...

Kidd watched as Ami flew over him. He knew what he had to do now. "I must not let fear stop me!" Kidd casted Dark Fira and jumped up behind Ami. "Nice to see everyone is alive."
Kidd's body flashed once, twice, three times. "HERE IS WHERE IT ALL ENDS JENOVA!" Kidd separated his blades and began to slash wildly.

Jenova managed to throw back their combined attack and soared over their heads, charging a ball of energy that seemed jointly made of fire, water, air, earth, and ether. "FOOLISH CHILDREN! I COMMAND THE FORCES OF THE PLANET! WHAT POWER IS GREAT ENOUGH TO STOP ME?"
Ami shook her head, determination to protect her friends charging through her veins. "It would seem, my poor 'mother', that you have never loved." She looked at Kidd and nodded. "Let's kick her a**."
She held out an arm and sent a message into his mind. Fastball special?

Ami grabbed his arm. "Let's show Momma a little teenage rebellion." She jumped straight into the air, pulling him up with her, and began to spin like a top. Faster and faster...
Jenova's element ball was now reaching critical mass...
Faster and faster until the whole world blurred...
Jenova unleashed the mammoth element ball directly at her "wayward" daughter...
...as Ami launched Kidd towards Jenova like a torpedo. "GAME ON!!!"
Ami returned to the pulverized ground and waited for impact.

Reno gritted his teeth when he saw the smoking remains of the car. Just a rental, just a rental, these things happen... he chanted inwardly. Aw, but it was a hot rental!!! I liked that car!!!
He looked over to Rude... and saw that Rude had rescued the plasma cannon. "Eat this, b***h," Rude muttered as he charged up the cannon. When he was confident it would explode if he heated it up further, he fired.
The plasma discharge impacted the element ball, but merely shrank it and slowed it down, rather than causing the explosion Rude had every right to expect. He blasted again, causing its energy and mass to decrease just a little more...

Reno looked at her. The tone in which she'd posed the question almost made him feel sorry for her. He decided to give it to her straight. "Unless you can work miracles, sweetheart... there's not much any of us can do."
The sudden seriousness he took on at this point was a shocking contrast to his ordinary demeanor. Rude knew this and decided that the world was definitely about to end, for it would take nothing but that to keep Reno from cracking wise. He consequently decided that if the world was about to end, and with him on it, he wanted to go down fighting. He kept on firing...
