He kept his guns ready and leveled, prepared to blast anything that even looked like it was thinking about being worthy of suspicion. He allowed himself to adjust to the light level change, a faint silver glow coming from the back of his eye sockets as he stared into the dimmer interior of the "shack"... just ahead of him was Fituna... where were the yellow markers Jeremy had mentioned?

Fituna counted her steps before looking to down. She saw the first yellow mark. Small and chalk. She grinned and silently motioned to Yazoo before following the evenly spaced and small markers. Jeremy had strategically placed them to lead them down the hall and into a room. Then down the stairs... she paused at the bottom.
This was where the bomb had gone off. She looked around, seeing the charred stone walls and marred floor. She looked closer and saw remnants of small objects and... blood? She sighed. "Yeah... just a few scratches." She mumbled before moving on down the hall, turning right at the fork. She had memorized the map she drew out....

Yazo silently kept covering Fituna from behind, somehow managing to keep an eye on the environment behind them while not losing track of her. His infrared visual spectra might have lent itself to that end... but even so, it took a little effort.
He wasn't putting much effort into listening to her... the first news he got of the blood was the strong smell of it. He examined the remains of the trap in a cursory glance, and didn't like the messages they were giving him. In any case, Fredrickt must be alerted to our presence... why have we not yet met any opposition?

Fituna reached the end of the hallway and saw that the door was cracked. She glanced back and motioned slightly before moved closer, against the wall. Her foot steps were lighter and closer together as she made very little noise. So little that really only Yazoo and her could hear it. Her because she was the one making it and he because of his hearing.
She moved to peer into the room but couldn't see anyone.... wait. Footsteps. She stilled herself and paused her breathing to hear better. They were soft and even... almost sounding as if on carpet. Maybe someone pacing?

Yazoo held his breath calmly and listened. All he heard were footsteps crunching on the fibers of a carpet. What sounded like soft thuds to others sounded to him like someone snacking on potato chips. He made a few observations and shared them mentally with Fituna. Definite vibrations coming from this room, but how many and whose they are is unclear. More mental dampers... but if he's cautious enough to have those, surely he wouldn't leave a door unlocked by accident. This has to be a trap.
He tried edging over to see through the crack better, but if he got any closer he would wind up touching Fituna's arm... something he didn't feel like doing right now. He didn't think he'd be able to stand it. You didn't make your decision because it was what you wanted. You made it because for once you are going to do the right thing.

Fituna would have been startled, but she was used to Kamen doing that. She nodded slightly and used what she had been taught to follow his connection and send a messege back. It was vague and not the best, but it worked to communicate. I only see one shadow. There could be more people, though. I know about the risks, but what really can't we risk besides our lives or limbs? Care to go first, if you're so worried. She glanced back and flashed a more taunting grin before going back to her original state.

He shot a glare back at her. I do NOT worry. You know that. Not for myself, and most assuredly, NOT for ANYONE else.
Immediately, he reprimanded himself for his outburst. It isn't like me to be angry. I've allowed myself to fall under the influence of my circumstances. And now, once again, the red alert signaling oncoming imbalance within himself was pestering his mind... Enough! I'd rather burst than break!
Furious with his own self-betraying nature, he shoved himself off the wall and threw the door open. What the h**l. I've got nothing to lose... nothing at all. He barged right past Fituna and aimed at the moving figure. "Freeze or die."

Fituna was a little shocked at his sudden outburt. Hm... guess someone forgot that its absolutely normal to have angery feelings... She scoffed slightly.
Fituna gasped and reached out for him, missing and moving forward. She followed him and stopped behind him....
A man stopped and gasped, holding up his hands. He looked terrified... There was a faint click of a gun from the side. "I advise that you do not move or shoot, young man..." Fituna looked over quickly to see... the same guy? This must be Frederickt, she thought as the other man stood slowly and pointed his gun at Yazoo, arm steady. Well... one of them. Did he have a twin??
What she didn't notice was that the one with his hands up flickered ever so slightly....

Yazoo seethed. "Hologram. So clever, and yet..." He spun to the side and fired, faster than human eyes could follow. "...so ludicrously obtuse!" I was BRED to dodge bullets. I've had more hollow threats than I can stand coming from fools like this... "Take your best shot, old man." The blood lust was waking in him... and no fear of death hampered it...

The shot made Fituna flinch and move back, what was this part of Yazoo? She was slightly worried and confused....
Frederickt winced as the shot grazed his shoulder, blood seeped through his clothes quickly. He smirked sadistically, slowly and calmly lifting his gun at level with Yazoo's head.... but before he fired he moved his arm and missed Yazoo completely....
Fituna froze.

Whatis she doing just standing there? Yazoo shrugged off his irritation at her inability to act and decided to compensate, countering the Puppetmaster's aim with a sharp double to the right and a couple of potshots for distraction value... the wide miss puzzled Yazoo completely. A five year old has better aim than that! What is this? And how can any normal keep a bead on me at this speed, even a Puppetmaster? He lit into the offense, abandining his normal sharp-shooting approach at walking speed for a faster but more wasteful full-throttle charge, blasting away at his opponent.

Frederickt rushed at him, ignoring any casualties. He drew two short swords and knocked away and pinned Yazoo's guns, looking him dead in the eye. "Your composure needs work, boy.... but I think what needs the most help is the miss you left behind." He smirked before kicking Yazoo away from him roughly.
Fituna stood in numbed shock for a moment before slowly bringing her hand up and placing it over her stomach... She frowned. Blood. She made a muffled gasp as it finally hit her. I've been... shot. She brought her other hand up and clutched the bloody wound in her torso before dropping onto her knees. F*ck... I've been shot. She swayed slightly and made a small cry of pain, her adrenaline had made her reaction delayed, before reaching for her dropped gun... Bast*rd shot me...

The kick knocked Yazoo backwards, flat onto his back, but it barely fazed the Remnant at all. He recovered quickly, coiling to spring to his feet... Then Frederickt's words sank in.
Yazoo smelled the blood before he saw it. It was leaking through his glove seams to his hands as it pooled on the floor.
He glanced back... His blood turned to ice as he saw her slump to the floor. My G**...
Whenever he tried to remember what happened next, all he could ever come up with was a dark, unbearably hot blank.
In a single motion, he spun around and launched himself from the floor upwards at Frederickt, aiming for his kneecaps. Three Shadowcreepers sprang from the floor behind him, backing him up. No words. No tricks. No mercy.

Frederickt was startled, more by the shadowcreepers. He had never seen one so close before. He gasped as he fell back, he grabbed his gun and shot more wildly at Yazoo, not caring whether he hit or missed. He panicked and yelped as he was attacked from either end. He kicked and fought the best he could, not sure how to react.
Fituna tried to move but winced and shivered in pain as she curled. She saw all this before falling to her side and going limp.

The Shadowcreepers had distracted Frederickt. He had been easy to fight before. Now he was laughably vulnerable.
Time had ceased to have meaning. Within seconds, Yazoo had returned to his feet, and was advancing steadily on Frederickt. Dully, he watched as the panic-stricken crime lord struggled to fight off his beasts. As he returned fire, Yazoo felt at least two shots grazing his arms. He didn't even blink. At point blank, he dropped one of his pistols, snagged the man off the floor by his collar, and slammed him against a wall... repeatedly. When the wall began showing stress fractures, only then did he stop. He pinned him a foot above the floor, holding him by the throat, the muzzle of his gun pressed dead center into his forehead.
Cold eyes, staring directly into his. Only two words.
"Help her."
