Frederickt stared at him before narrowing his eyes. "Why would I? This is my property afterall... and you were the ones who tried to kill me first..." The little voice in his head talked him out of it and he sighed. "Put me down. I'll see what I can do..." He muttered bitterly and coldly. He hoped she was dead already....
Fituna could barely hear them anymore... barely able to form thoughts she tried to think over the situation. I was a decoy... he shot me to phase Yazoo... thats so cheap...

"I have a better idea," Yazoo replied darkly.
Lifting him by the throat, the Remnant carried the Puppetmaster to the slowly dying woman. He listened to him gargling and gagging... Good. I hope you're having about as much fun as she is.
He dropped the murderous geezer to the floor in a heap, keeping a pistol trained directly on his brains from the moment he hit the floor. "Don't try anything cute... in fact, don't even allow the notion to cross your mind. If I read any devious intent in your emotions... you'll meet the Lifestream long before she does."
Don't you dare let her die.
He looked down on her body, her dress soaked with blood... Fituna... He was still trapped in the nothingness of his rage. But a sickly dread still managed to find him...

Frederickt got up only slightly to risk further injury to himself. He figured there was no chance he could get out alive. He ignored Yazoo and looked to the woman on the floor. "If you had listened to me sooner, she might have run a better chance." He bit without caution, but made no real move either way. He knew the gun was there and didn't risk possible escape.
He looked to Yazoo with a bitter glare before continuing to talk. "I lack sufficient supplies... but I'll work with what I have." He added sorely.
The walkie talkie beeped and blinked from its stray spot on the bloodied floor. "Denias Mianyu-- F*ck!" There was a crackling and what sounded like gunshots. "Kill that bast*** and get out of there. Izzy brought reinforcements." He paused and there was a buzzing silence before he came back. "Our route of escapes been shot. Get the h*ll outta there, you guys-- Sh*t stop shooting at us!" He sounded too rushed to say 'over' as he clicked off.
Frederickt looked at the walkie before he smirked. "Guess thats what happens to little boys who play with guys." He laughed coldly.

Yazoo coldly and immediately responded by shooting Frederickt in the shoulder. "Shut up. No distractions. No stalling. Get to work," he barked.
They're coming for us. It doesn't matter. I'm not afraid to die. But while he's sitting there cackling... she's running out of time.
One of his Shadowcreepers stalked past Frederickt, growling under its breath, snorting and shivering as Yazoo forced it to not pounce... it retrieved the walkie gently in its mouth, bringing it back to Yazoo.
Yazoo nodded, taking the walkie from the creature and absently patting its head. "Good boy."
The creature snorted, still snarling at Vikktor.
Yazoo opened the link. "To whom it may concern-- we have Frederickt at gunpoint. Any further attacks will result in his immediate termination. Stand down if you want him to live."

Kidd crouched low and silently stepped around, into the lead. He found a crate and put his back up against it. He stuck his finger around it, pointing to the general direction of the warehouse. Kidd stuck his head out a tiny ways to scan the area. It ws quiet, very quiet. The wind was still and his mouth was dry. Something wasn't right.

Many hours later...
The warehouse was empty now.
Yazoo had quickly figured out the comlink wasn't working correctly. There was no time to fix it.
The fight had been brief and unfair. A gaggle of average human streetrats against one healthy Remnant and his three very angry Shadowcreepers.
Frederickt had been harder. After all, Yazoo had been slightly worn down after the free-for-all. But he quickly fell in turn. Yazoo regretted the final blow... he knew it would make getting help for Fituna more difficult.
It didn't matter. By the time he got back to her, it was too late.
Sirens began wailing then, and he had been forced to escape and hide. They found only the bodies, and carted them all away, sheets over their heads. There was no telling one apart from the other.
He hadn't even had time to say goodbye... to confess his lies. But waiting for the furor to die down, there had been plenty of time for guilt.
****
Late that evening, after the emergency vehicles were long gone, Kadaj neared the structure. Tape cordoned it off... he smelled blood thick in the air... but it was cool. Whatever had happened here was long over.
"It's OK," he whispered. "Come on."
He led them through the alleyway, silently slinking past the scene to avoid accidentally implicating himself in--
His sword was immediately out of its sheath as a shadow detached itself from the wall.
He realized a split second later that the shadow had silver hair. "Brother..."
He put the blade away as Loz gave Yazoo a crushing, brotherly embrace. "What happened to you? You're a mess..."
"I'm fine," he said calmly. "Ami?"
"I'm here," she announced, stepping forward.
He blinked slowly. "What on Earth are you dressed as?"

Kidd just stood back, leaning up against the concrete as the family reunited. They were whole once again, now for the question of his. Heh. He chuckled and shook his head at his thoughts. What the... Was he happy? Fr the first time in a long while he actually was glad to be here.

Ami smiled and hugged him. "Just an old suit I picked up somewhere."
He touched her hair gently. "You cut it."
"A master of the obvious today, aren't we?" She pulled back and flicked a hair out of his face. "It's good to see you, brother."
He nodded. "Good to see you, Ami."
She looked into his eyes... "Brother? What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's nothing." Whatever she had seen there quickly disappeared as he straightened up. "I'm sorry for blocking you off, but if you'd followed my vibrations earlier, you would have been led into a trap."
He almost caught Kadaj narrowing his eyes at him, until his younger brother looked away. "What's that?" He pointed to Fituna's truck.
Yazoo gave it a long, silent look. "It's mine." He walked slowly towards the vehicle. Fituna, in her rush to get into the warehouse undetected, had left the keys in the ignition.
Kadaj followed. "Everybody in."
It was at about that point that Frederickt's surviving thugs jumped them.

Kidd watched either in shock or horror, maybe a combination of both. He drew his weapons but stayed out of their ranks in a defensive position. Although he was an experienced fighter there were still to many for him to take alone.

"Woot, yo!" Reno yelled defiantly, getting out his EMR and charging it in record time. "Let's go!"
His full force charge was abruptly cut off by a streak of black leather, silver hair, and red blood.
Hold it. Yazoo's blood isn't red.
The first two on the charge were the first to go in the first second of the fight.
There were about twelve more left.
"Easy prey," Kadaj and Loz said in unison.
A few of the thugs hesitated. "It's them silver-hair freaks!"
"This one ain't!" One of the braver ones came up on Kidd from behind and pounced on him.

"Heh!" Kidd just scoffed as he turned and jumped, while kicking the thug straight up. He threw his first blade slicing up the thug and used the second blade to stab the ground. He did a handstand on it as he kicked his enemy away. Kidd's blade fell back into his hand. Then his other arm gave out from the strain on it. His face crinkled as he winced but was back to normal as he raised his head to the thugs. "No, Im the spawn of a blonde haired SOILDER."

"Big whoop," the thugs mocked, advancing on the fallen fighter.
Ami sprang forward protectively, popping her gauntlets on the fly. She swung a blow at the nearest henchman's ribcage, which he narrowly dodged. Her follow-up was swiftly blocked...
"Losing our touch already, are we?" Kadaj commented, blocking a misguided attempt at an attack on him. His opponent was surprisingly tenacious, but still no match...
Automatically, Rude's new gift for shielding activated. He had no need to worry about guarding himself or pulling his punches-- finally met with an average opponent instead of the insanely super-powered enemies he had confronted of late, his one concern was raining heavy blows on one meatbag after another. As usual, he found himself covering Reno from behind as his "invincible" (or at least so he called himself) partner went berserker, green arcs of energy supplanting his stiff swings.
Loz lost track of Yazoo, tossing a couple thugs aside as he searched. Unfortunately, his single-minded pursuit placed him directly in the middle of an ambush as the stunned thugs recovered. "Oh, poopy..."
Yazoo tore through the surrounding corpses-to-be like they were tissue paper. He said not a word as fountains of blood sprayed in his wake. Something in his eyes had gone metallic... cold... The strange aloofness that had been his nature from childhood was replaced by something even worse. Loz shrank back, afraid to see it.
The three who remained unengaged shifted their attack pattern, filtering past the other heroes and making directly for Kidd. Ami gritted her teeth... Real cheap of them to go for the one with the least protection! She couldn't afford to break off the fight, and neither could any of the others...
They fanned out and flanked the boy. The musclehead on the left barreled for him headlong...

Kidd watched as the three engaged him. Son of a.... why me?!? He readied himself as the thugs came closer with each step. Kidd gripped his weapons, so hard his hands went numb. He closed his eyes, taking deep breaths. NOW! He jumped in the air and delivered a crescent kick to the built man's head. Landing he attached his keyblades together before throwing them at the man of his right. Here the young warrior found fault in his steps as he hesistated, for just that moment, leaving himself open to an attack.

The remaining thug lunged for the boy, pinning him down to the pavement. The terrible weight on him was too much to push away, and huge, meaty hands wrapped around hsi neck to snap it in two--
BLAM!!!
The shot echoed through the alley as the remains of the lackey's head dribbled all over Kidd. The weight lifted as Yazoo, his pistol still smoking, shoved the corpse off the boy.
The rest of the oppositon lay dead or dazed on the ground. The one survivor scrambled to his feet and ran--
BLAM!!!
His flight was cut short by two shots to the back of the head.
Yazoo stood still, quietly catching his breath. "The last thing we need right now is witnesses," he said calmly. He holstered his weapons and made for the truck, yanking the door open and easing into the driver's seat.
Kadaj counted. Of the fourteen attackers, Yazoo had killed seven.
"Where to?" the young marksman asked evenly.
Kadaj looked up at him strangely. Who are you and where is Yazoo? You aren't being yourself, brother... "What happened? Where is Fituna?"
Yazoo adjusted the mirrors. "We should get out of the open quickly."
"Did you not hear me?"
"She's dead." He looked steadily into his younger sibling's eyes. "Get into the truck."
Kadaj blinked. He wasn't certain how to react... and as such, decided to leave the reactions for later. He did as his brother requested.
The others began to pile in after him. They were two seats short in the cabin, however.
Reno sat in the tailgate and nudged Ami, already perched by the rear window. "Hey, who's this Fituna chick, yo? Yazoo's lady friend or something?"
Ami shook her head. "He doesn't have 'lady friends'," she mused. "I don't know."
****
Crammed into the interior seats were the brothers, Kidd, and Rude, mainly because they'd been the first to get inside.
Loz, a couple of times, looked like he wanted to speak, but thought better of it.
Yazoo waited for the others to be settled.
When they were, he didn't start the engine. He just sat there with his hands on the wheel.
For a couple of minutes, he continued to sit there.
Kaaj tried to get his attention by tapping his shoulder, but was only swatted away.

Kidd shifted his position, not only beacause it was crammed, but beacause of the uncomfortable silence. His head turned looking at everyones expressions. He sighed and finally gathered his courage to speak. "Yazoo... ignition?"
