Rude's jaw clenched. "You tail him... I'm getting Reno."
He made a break back to the ship. "Partner!"
Reno looked away from Nikky to see Rude drop his purchases near the hatch... "What is it?"
Rude unstrapped the Sacrifice and laid it aside. "We got a lead on Aztar."
Reno didn't bother to reply... he collected his EMR from where it had been dropped earlier after the fight with Tseng. "Where?"
"Lutz is following him..."
Reno sprinted out the hatch. He screeched to a stop a few feet away and stuck his head back inside. "Nikky, you coming?"
Rude tapped Ami's shoulder. "Come on... Aztar's waiting."
She sighed and looked at the cabin door again... If fate decrees I never reveal the truth... so be it. She collected her short swords and was on her way...
Rude tried to get Dimitri's attention, but he was flat out. He went to find Kamen. "Kamen, kid, we got a fix on Aztar. You up to a fight?"

Ami caught up to Lutz. "Rude says you guys have a lead..."

nikky nodded and watched reno go before following rude. she picked up her knives and short sword.
kamen stared at him before nodding silently and standing. he followed him out.

as Lutz followed he noctice Ami rushing closely behind him,
Lutz: 'Yes this old man...hehas the ancient symbol of the word Aztar right on his robes."
Lutz has whispering to Ami but the old man stopped walking and turned around.
Old Man: "Aztar huh....well yes I suppose some would call me that...."
Lutz: "How the hell did he hear me!?"
Aztar: "Interesting to see a Maloki in these parts....I thought Raja was the last...."
The old man took a few steps closer.
Aztar: "Now what is it you wish to speak to me about??? you all are clearly following me...."

Amnesty gulped. She stepped forward, Dragon Teeth in hand. "I wish to speak with you about how you are... hmm, I dunno... DESTROYING THE PLANET?!" She glared at him. "I mean, geez! How original can you be? I've had about six billion enemies in the past week alone try to do the exact same thing!" She stared him down. "And another thing... don't give me all that 'it's for the good of the planet' c**p, OK? That's the lazy way out. We could fix this planet if we worked at it... it'd be hard, it'd take a while, but it's possible. But noooooo, you've got to try the easy way out by tearing it apart! What kind of lame-o freakjob are you, anyway?" She stood there defiantly, certain she was about to get creamed.
Reno and Rude, who had caught up to the group by this time, were fairly certain of the same thing. Reno facepalmed himself while Rude shook his head. They were both thinking more or less the same thing... This crazy-a** kid has got a death wish, I swear.
Reno tried opening a channel with Ami. Could we at least TRY to talk to him like normal human beings first? I mean, this guy has my age acceleration rate in his hands, here...
Ami ignored him.

nikky stood beside reno. kamen was slightly behind them. nikky made a funny face but didn't say anything.
kamen shrank back slightly...

Aztar rose his hand.
Aztar: "sshhh my child....yes...the planet will be destory but from the ashes will come a new one and this time around I will keep a watchful eye on the being who live on it making surethe war and murder do not consume it again, it saddens me to think you all don't understand what I am trying to do for you all. break free from your own fates of destroying each other...."
Lutz shook his head.
Lutz: "But there are still good people out there!!!"

Reno nodded. "Word up, dude." He gave the old man a dirty look. "And I, personally, would prefer it if I survived to experience said Brave New World, Herr Kommandant."
He sent a message into the old man's mind... You see that girl over there? I promised her I'd never leave her... and thanks to you, I am slowly breaking that promise. If this planet dies, I go with it, even if we escape in time. He glared. I am NOT going to die without a fight, you moron.
Ami primed herself for battle... "I am sworn to protecting this planet, if for no other reason than absolution. You want it destroyed, you gotta get through me."
"That goes double for us," Rude observed, indicating himself and Reno. "Care to push off and mind your own d**n business? This planet was actually doing fine until you came along."

kamen stayed silent but was willing to fight if need be. he felt his stronger strength come back. it had been deeply missed.

Rude nodded towards her. "Don't worry, Nikky, I didn't forget you... I was just waiting for Gandalf the Gray over here to give us a straight answer." He stood and waited. "Well?"

Aztar tapped into Renos mind.
Reno...your love is strong I respect that, but I know the future....
Aztar showed Reno the foresight of the future to come with the planet still in its state Reno grows older and still with Nikky happy and free, but then shows him the down side to the planet in the future wars will rage and people will die sooner or later Shinra finally develops a weapon of massive destruction that could take out the planet and on Renos wedding day the world ends.
So now you see the horrible fate your planet will take....either way the planet is lost....I am sorry
Lutz: "Aztar! you can't do this!!!"
Aztar: "You all show a glow of hope in your eyes but! just how bright is that hope???"
Then Aztar Vanished.....

Reno's jaw dropped with the impact of his oracle... "Holy c**p..." He wasn't sure which shocked him more... the fact that the world was going to end no matter what happened... or the idea that someday he would marry Nikky...
He turned away, looking a little bit hollow in the face... Ami saw his look and recognized it too easily... The one my brothers got when my "mother" talked to them. What's going on with him? She resolved to ask as soon as she got the opportunity...
"Well, peachy," Ami sighed. "He's gone again... now what do we do?"
Rude's face was hard. "What can we do but the obvious thing?"
He paced slightly. "Aztar is a creature of the Lifestream... where else would he go but there?" He set off to find it...
Reno stopped him. "Wait..." His solemnity was totally out of character. "I'm don't know if you should do that, partner."
Rude didn't get it. "What's the problem?"
Reno couldn't make the words come out... he shook his head and turned away, headed back to the ship.
Ami goggled at the tableau before her... This is some serious s**t.
She numbly started following him... Rude stood back with arms akimbo, not certain what he should do... going back without some kind of standup confrontation was counter to his instincts... What does Reno know that I don't?

Ami waved back at Kamen lamely, still watching Reno walk away. "Hi..." Her forehead wrinkled. She tilted her head slightly. "Kamen, can you find out what's on Reno's mind? He's acting really weird..."
Rude regarded Nikky quietly. "I've only seen him like this two other times in my life... one, the day he thought he killed Amnesty and her brothers. Two, the day he thought he lost you." He shook his head and gave her a look. "You should go talk to him."
He began walking off. "Meantime, I'm going to see about tracking down this Aztar character... He knows a LOT more than he's seeing fit to tell us." I'm going to take him out either way.

nikky blinked after him before walking up beside reno. she took his hand and leaned against his arm. ''whats wrong...??'' she asked quietly.
kamen frowned slightly before sighing. ''i could.... but it would most likely be noticed by reno. and.... i really don't wish to make him mad.'' he looked over at reno, his energy keeping him normal.
